• Do not kink or crush the mains cable.
• Make sure that the power cable is not damaged and does not
run underneath the appliance or over hot surfaces or sharp
edges.
• Lay the cable so that nobody is able to step on it or trip over
it.
• The mains cable should not come into contact with the appli-
ance or any other hot objects when in use.

3.5.1. Fondue with oil/fat

• Use fats/oils in the fondue which are specifically intended for
frying. Do not use fat blends. Note the manufacturer's instruc-
tions on the packaging.
• Replace the oil/fat after use because used oil/fat may ignite
even at normal frying temperatures. In the event of a fire, pull
the plug out immediately and smother the flame with the lid
or a cloth. Never try to extinguish using water!

Never fight oil or fat fires with water!

• Do not pour hot oil/fat into plastic containers and do not pour
used oil/fat down the sink. The pipes can become clogged
when the fat cools.
• Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning it.
• Oil and fat require a very long time to cool down. Do not
move the fondue set while the contents are hot. Do not touch
