Correct trim
Seat-boards of the OUTSIDE can be moved
to suit the purpose and desired seat position,
over the entire length of the boat. The vary-
ing seat positions for white-water kayaking
and waterway exploration appli-cations are
explained here following. The setting can be
adjusted to meet individual weight factors.
Trim for waterway exploration
Attach the rear seat-board to the last eyelet
or the in front. Tighten the straps a little for
height adjustment so that the seat-board tilts
at a slight angle. That offers comfortable
seating. The seat-board of the forward padd-
ler attaches to between the third and fifth eye
of the line of eyes on the coaming at the boats
forward section. That seating position ext-
ends the water line length and improves the
boats track holding attribute. There is space
for luggage between the seat-boards. Alter-
natively a third seat-board may be integrated
(accessory). Families may appreciate the ex-
tra seat for a child.
Trim to suit white-water application
To facilitate optimised bailing the boat
should be trimmed to set stern heavy. That
shortens the water line length and improves
turning attributes of the boat. The seat-board
for the rear paddler attaches to the last eyes
of the coaming. The straps that determine
and adjust the angle of the seat-board should
be slackened to take up an angled. Attach
the front persons seat-board at the sixth and
eights eye.
Trim for single handed paddling
The OUTSIDE is adapted for single handed
application. The seat-board should then be
fitted to the eleventh or thirteenths eye of the
coaming strip.
NOTICE: all trim-settings are under-
stood as guide lines only! Trim of the boat
is dependent on body weight and added
load, the best position of which may be
found by testing individually.
Bailing - bail-hose
The self bailing facility renders the OUT-
SIDE suitable for white-water application.
Self bailing entails automatic evacuation of
water through the bail-hose, i.e. water ship-
ped inboard by spray and paddle action. Self
bailing though functions only, when the boat
is moving faster (suction) than the speed of
the water, on which the boat moves. When
operating in calm waters, the bail-hose
should be closed.
a residue of water will remain in the boat.
Close the bail-hose
► By pulling the bail-hose to the inside and
open the clip seal.
► Arrange the hose flat and fairly free of
creases then roll it up (at least 4 x) from
the top to the bottom.
► Close the clip seal.
► It is possible, that a small residue of wa-
ter remains in the boat. If you wish the
floor to be absolutely dry, a bail-hose
clamp is available (as accessory), which
prevents any ingress of water.
