20 System Operation
Carefully remove the end pieces up out of the membrane tube by using
t
a sideways back and forth motion while pulling at the same time.
Note the end of the membrane(s) with the large black lip seal. When installing
the new membrane(s), this seal must be in the same position (top or bottom).
Remove the membrane(s) from the membrane tube.
t
After membrane replacement, reinsert the end pieces and secure with the
t
U fastener and pin. Then reattach all hoses.
The "ring" should be secured tightly when sliding in the hose connection
and the hose should be inserted completely.
After all connections are complete and the end pieces secured with the U faste-
t
ner, the system should be reconnected to the power supply.
The prefilter may need to be replaced with a new 5", 5 µm prefilter cartridge.

Reconnect the raw water.
t
Open the discharge valve completely.
t
Close the recirculation valve completely.
t
Remove the permeate hose and run it to the drain.
t
Reconnect the system power supply.
t
Flush the system in this way for 20 to 30 minutes.
t
Set the concentrate discharge valve and permeate discharge valve.
t
Check the operating pressure on the pressure gauge to determine whether or not
t
normal operating pressure has been achieved (13.5–14.5 bar).
Check that the water quality is within specifications (standard 20 µS/cm).
t
This can be read from the conductivity meter (optional). If the water quality is
satisfactory, connect the hose to the tank.
Check the flow meter for the desired system flow rate.

y The system is now operational and can be operated normally.
The following information should be entered in the operating log:
– Date of membrane replacement
– New system flow rate
(flow meter)
– Water quality (µS/cm)
– System operating pressure
(pressure gauge)
– Raw water temperature
– Raw water pressure
– Tank cleaning
