Note: The aroma booster operates on an
intermittent basis.
The aroma booster is automatically
switched off at the same time as the
appliance itself.
Take care!
Never swing out the filter during the
brewing operation.
Remove the glass jug when the brewing
operation is completed. An automatic filter
closure prevents any dripping of coffee.
Replace the jug on the warming plate to
keep it hot (10).
The heating system will switch off
automatically after two hours, but the
appliance can be switched off manually at
any time before that by using the ON/OFF
switch.

Cleaning and descaling

Always pull out the mains plug before
any cleaning operation and also take out
the filter insert (11).
The glass jug, lid and filter insert can be
cleaned in the dish-washer (upper basket,
away from the heating element).
Wipe down the appliance itself with a moist
cloth only.
Do not use scouring agents!
To ensure satisfactory coffee making over a
long period, it is necessary for lime scale to
be removed from the appliance from time to
time. Indications that scale removal is
necessary are:
- increased noise during the boiling
operation
- a lengthening of the coffee preparation
time
When usage is frequent, the following
procedures should be adopted for the
removal of lime scale:
with soft water up to
7° dH (0-1.24 mol/m
once a year

with medium hard water
7-14° dH (1.24-2.5 mol/m
every 3 months
with hard water over
14° dH (2.5-3.75 mol/m
every month
In case of doubt, consult the local water
authority.
From the standpoint of ecology and health,
we recommend the exclusive use of
biological agents such as citric acid or
tartaric acid, both of which are obtainable
from chemists.
Dissolve 2 tablespoonfuls in half a litre of
water and pour the solution into the water
container. Now brew this through the
system 2 or 3 times as for coffee-making,
but without any coffee meal. Allow the
solution to cool down for about ten minutes
between each run-through and switch off
the appliance during this time. Finally, swill
through twice with clear water.
Flex storage recess
Any unwanted length of flex can be
pushed into the storage recess at the rear
of the appliance (12).
Disposal
The packaging consists entirely of
environmentally-friendly materials, which
should be passed on to the appropriate
recycling agencies.
