Installing the devices
Set up or install the transmitter CEI-8 in proximity to the object you
are monitoring, e.g. next to the telephone or next to the doorbell.
Choose a location which is as dry and dust-free as possible.
Make sure that the device is not exposed to direct intense sunlight.
Devices should not be installed in proximity to a heating source (ra-
diator, etc.) or devices emitting strong electromagnetic fields (elec-
tromotors, etc.).
Help: The range of the system under optimum conditions is ap-
prox. 25m. When selecting the locations for the transmitter
and receiver, please remember that metal surfaces can inter-
fere with propagation of radio signals. This may result in
such cases in a reduction of range or functional interference.
Reinforced concrete walls and the proximity of electric or el-
ectromagnetic fields which are too powerful (such as may
occur with electromotors or radio installations, etc.) are also
liable to reduce range.
Before finally selecting a location for installation, you should com-
plete a function check.
To counter pollution through so-called electrosmog, you should gene-
rally observe a minimum distance from persons. It is recommended
to install the transmitter at a distance of approx. 1 m from persons.
Children are at risk of putting the device in their
mouths, or opening the cover of the battery com-
partment and accessing the batteries.
Therefore, when installing please keep the device
out of the reach of children and infants.
Do not obstruct the microphone openings on the device.
