STaRTING THE ENGINE
1. Fully charge the LiPo battery pack.
2. Fill the fuel tank with 20% nitro fuel.
3. Power on the transmitter, then power on the vehicle.
4. Put the vehicle on the ground.
5. To start the engine, press and hold the ROSS start button on the transmitter
for 10 seconds.
CauTIoN: Do not press the ROSS start button for more than 10
seconds or you may damage the ROSS unit. If the vehicle does not start
within 10 seconds, release the start button. Allow the ROSS system to
cool before trying to start the vehicle again.
6. After the vehicle has moved approximately 10 feet (3 meters),
release the ROSS start button.
IF you NEEd To RESTaRT THE ENGINE
1. The engine stops after running out of fuel
a. Allow the engine and exhaust to cool before attempting
to restart the vehicle.
b. Fill the fuel tank with 20% nitro fuel.
c. Move the throttle trigger to the 1/4 throttle position.
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 above.
2. The engine stops running but there is still fuel in the tank
a. Move the throttle trigger to the 1/4 throttle position.
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 above.
b. After the vehicle has moved approximately 10 feet (3 meters),
release the ROSS start button.
REmoVING THE GLoW PLuG
1. Remove the four screws and the engine head protector from
the Losi 3.4 engine.
2. Use needle nose pliers to remove the blue glow plug wire.
3. Remove the glow plug using the included glow plug wrench.

Limited Warranty

What this Warranty Covers
Horizon Hobby, Inc. ("Horizon") warrants to the original purchaser that the
product purchased (the "Product") will be free from defects in materials
and workmanship at the date of purchase.
What is Not Covered
This warranty is not transferable and does not cover (i) cosmetic damage, (ii)
damage due to acts of God, accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial
use, or due to improper use, installation, operation or maintenance, (iii)
modification of or to any part of the Product, (iv) attempted service by anyone
other than a Horizon Hobby authorized service center, (v) Product not purchased
from an authorized Horizon dealer, or (vi) Product not compliant with applicable
technical regulations.

TESTING THE GLoW PLuG
1. Remove the glow plug from the engine.
2. Disconnect the red wire from the ROSS starter motor.
3. Attach the blue glow plug wire to the glow plug.
4. Hold the glow plug threads against the cylinder head and press the ROSS
start button. The glow plug element should be bright orange.
If the glow plug element is not bright orange:
• Use a new glow plug to test the glow plug wire
• Fully charge the LiPo receiver battery
• Replace the ROSS wiring harness (LOSB5122)

Engine Troubleshooting

The engine does not start, and the vehicle stops responding to controls.
• Overcurrent protection is active. Reset the overcurrent protection circuit.
The engine is receiving fuel, but the engine will not start.
• Make sure the ROSS system is heating the glow plug. Fully charge the LiPo
receiver battery pack.
• The engine may have excess fuel in the cylinder. Move the throttle trigger to
the 1/4 throttle position. Wait 5 seconds and try to start the engine again.
• The engine is overheated. Wait for the engine to cool before trying to
start the engine.
• The fuel in the tank is old. Replace the fuel in the tank and the fuel lines
with new fuel. The fuel may contain water if it is more than 6 months old.
• The engine needle settings are not correct. Move the high- and low-speed
needle to the factory position.
OTHER THAN THE EXPRESS WARRANTY ABOVE, HORIZON MAKES NO OTHER
WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION, AND HEREBY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL
IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE IMPLIED
WARRANTIES OF NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE PURCHASER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT
THEY ALONE HAVE DETERMINED THAT THE PRODUCT WILL SUITABLY
MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE PURCHASER'S INTENDED USE.
Purchaser's Remedy
Horizon's sole obligation and purchaser's sole and exclusive remedy shall be that
Horizon will, at its option, either (i) service, or (ii) replace, any Product determined
by Horizon to be defective. Horizon reserves the right to inspect any and all
Product(s) involved in a warranty claim. Service or replacement decisions are
