16. Handling

• Observe all safety information in these operating instructions!
• Some USB devices, such as older 2.5" USB hard discs require a second USB
connection for power supply. If your device is not recognised when connected to
the media player (blue LED for USB not lit), use a hard disc with external power
supply or one with only a single USB connection.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither bent nor pinched.
• Operation is only permissible in dry indoor areas. The device must not become
damp or wet!
• The following unfavourable conditions are to be avoided at the place of installati-
on or during transport:
- dampness or high humidity
- extreme cold (<0°C) or heat (>35°C), direct sunlight
- dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibration, hits or blows,
- strong magnetic fields as present near machines or loudspeakers
• Ensure that the entire product insulation is not damaged or destroyed.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
• If any damage is found, the appliance must NOT be connected to the mains
voltage! Danger to life!
• It must be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, if
- the device shows visible damage
- the device no longer functions and if
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions over an extended period
of time or
- following considerable stress during transportation.
