Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der Adapter ist zum Anschluss an einen USB-Port eines Computers (oder eines USB-Hubs, der an den
Computer angesteckt ist) vorgesehen und dient dort zur Herstellung einer Funkverbindung mit anderen
dazu geeigneten Geräten (z.B. WLAN-Router).
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen
Inhaber. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Installation der Treiber/Software
Stecken Sie den USB-WLAN-Adapter noch nicht an!
Zuerst muss die mitgelieferte Software installiert werden. Bei anderer Vorgehenswei-
se kann es dazu kommen, dass der USB-WLAN-Adapter nicht korrekt erkannt wird
oder die Software nicht richtig funktioniert.
• Legen Sie die mitgelieferte CD in das entsprechende Laufwerk Ihres Computers ein und folgen Sie allen
Anweisungen. Falls das Installationsprogramm nicht automatisch startet, so starten Sie das Programm
„Setup.exe" auf der CD.
• Nach Abschluss der Installation darf der USB-WLAN-Adapter an einen freien USB2.0-Anschluss des
Computers angesteckt werden. Windows erkennt neue Hardware und installiert die benötigten Treiber.
Wenn eine Meldung erscheint, nach denen der Treiber den „Windows-Logo-Test" nicht bestanden hat,
so klicken Sie auf „Installation fortsetzen".
• Nach Abschluss der Treiberinstallation ist es ggf. ein Neustart erforderlich, damit der USB-WLAN-
Adapter einwandfrei funktioniert.
Ein umfangreiches Handbuch finden Sie in englischer Sprache auf der CD (zum Öffnen von
PDF-Dateien wird der „Adobe Reader" benötigt, den Sie z.B. bei „www.adobe.com"
kostenlos herunterladen können).
Tipps & Hinweise
• Unter DOS oder im abgesicherten Modus von Windows funktioniert USB nicht (oder nur eingeschränkt
für USB-Tastatur/-Maus). Der USB-WLAN-Adapter kann hier nicht betrieben werden.
• Die Reichweite ist abhängig von den Umgebungsbedingungen; eine Verringerung ist möglich durch:
- Hochfrequenzstörungen aller Art (Computer, Monitore, Handys)
- Bebauung jeglicher Art und Vegetation
- Leitende Metallteile, die sich im Nahbereich der Geräte bzw. innerhalb oder nahe der Funkstrecke
befinden, z.B. Heizkörper, metallisierte Isolierglasfenster, Stahlbetondecken usw.
- Beeinflussung der Strahlungscharakteristik der Antennen durch den Abstand von Sender oder
Empfänger zu leitenden Flächen oder Gegenständen (auch zum menschlichen Körper oder Boden)
- Breitbandstörungen in städtischen Gebieten, die den Signal-Rauschabstand verkleinern; das Signal
wird in diesem „Rauschen" nicht mehr erkannt
- Einstrahlung von mangelhaft abgeschirmten elektronischen Geräten, z.B. offen betriebene Computer
o.ä.
- Bewegung von Empfänger/Sender
- Zu geringer Abstand von Sender & Empfänger

Prescribed Use
The adapter is meant to be connected to a USB port of a computer (or a USB hub that is connected to the
computer) in order to establish a radio connection with other appropriate devices (eg WLAN router).

Installation of the driver/software
• Insert the CD included in delivery into the appropriate drive of your computer and follow all instructions.
If the installation program does not start automatically, start the program "Setup.exe" on the CD.
• Once the installation is completed, the USB WLAN adapter can be connected to a free USB2.0
connection of the computer. Windows recognises the new hardware and installs the necessary drivers.
If a message appears that says that the software has not passed the "Windows Logo Test", click
"continue installation".
• After the completion of the driver installation, rebooting may be necessary for the USB WLAN adapter
to work properly.
Tips & notes
• Under DOS or in the protected mode of Windows, USB does not function (or only in a limited way for USB
keyboard/mouse). The USB WLAN adapter can not be used here.
• The range depends on the ambient conditions; this is why a reduction is possible due to:
- High frequency interferences of all types (computer, monitors, cell phones)
- Any kind of housing and vegetation
- Conductive metal parts which are located near the units or within or near their transmission path, e.g.
- Influence on the radiation pattern of antennas caused by the distance from the sender or the receiver
- Broadband interference in urban areas which reduces the signal-to-noise-ratio; the signal will no
- Interference radiation resulting from insufficiently shielded electronics, e.g. turned on computers or
- Movement of receiver/transmitter
- Distance of transmitter & receiver too small

First, you must install the software contained in the delivery. Proceeding differently
can hinder the USB WLAN adapter from being recognized correctly or can cause the
software not to function correctly.
