Installation

• If the grub screw (6) is inserted in the locking ring (5) at the time of delivery, remove
the grub screw using the Allen key enclosed.
• Then, unfasten the locking ring (5) by rotating it counter-clockwise.
• For the connection cable, you can drill a hole of corresponding size in the installation
location (protect the plug from dust and dirt e.g. with a strip of adhesive tape), or
pull the connection cable through a slot in the wall bracket (1).
• The wall bracket (1) can be fastened in the installation location using 3 screws (2).
Use wall plugs, if required by the surface.
Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that cables or wires
are not damaged.
• Attach the camera (3) and the stop ring (4) to the wall bracket (1). Then, screw the
locking ring (5) on, which you removed at the beginning, so the camera is in the
desired position.
Important:
While doing this, only rotate the locking ring (5), and not the ball-shaped cam-
era (3), otherwise the cable will be twisted, which may lead it being damaged.
• Adjust the camera as required, and secure it in place by tightening the outer ring.
The camera should not be pointed directly towards bright sources of light or
the sun, since this will overexpose the image.
For outdoor use, we recommend choosing a location that is protected from
rainfall (e.g. under the eaves), to prevent droplet formation on the camera's
front screen, which will cause a distorted and unusable image.
• Secure the locking ring (5) with the grub screw (6).
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors on the end:
• BNC connector: The video signal (PAL) is available over this. Use an adapter, if you do
not have a BNC cable for this connection.
• Round socket: The external power supply is connected to this socket. Make sure you
only use a stabilised power supply unit with an output voltage of 12 V/DC (direct cur-
rent) (see also chapter "Technical Data" at the end of the operating manual).
Pay attention to the correct polarity of the connector for the power supply (in-
ner contact = plus/+, outer contact = minus/-), otherwise the camera will be
damaged; loss of warranty!
If you install and use the camera in outdoor areas, the two connectors may
only be placed in a location that is protected from humidity (in dry indoor ar-
eas). Otherwise, the connectors will corrode.
Set the correct input channel on the display device to display the camera image.
Afterwards, adjust the camera carefully, in order to be able to monitor the desired area.
In the dark, the IR LEDs are activated automatically. However, the LEDs are not visible
to the human eye. Please bear in mind that at night coloured image reproduction
changes into a black and white monochrome representation.
Cleaning
Occasionally clean the camera from dust and dirt, especially the front screen. Use a
dry, clean and soft cloth, moistened with water. Do not rub too hard, to avoid scratch
marks on the glass, this will cause deterioration in the image quality!
Never point the jet of water from a garden hose or a high pressure cleaner at the cam-
era; do not use aggressive cleaning agents.

Tips and Notes
• Install the camera so that it can not be reached without using auxiliary means.
• Depending on the mounting location, make sure you use suitable lightning protec-
tion (e.g. installation on a pole).
• Increasing the cable lengths cause deterioration in the video signal. In this case, use
a suitable amplifi er.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop and thus, the
operating voltage for the camera will no longer be suffi cient. This may lead to stripes
in the image or to a loss of signal. If necessary, use a cable with a larger cross-section
to reduce the voltage drop.
Disposal
Electrical and electronic products do not belong to the household waste!
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the
current statutory requirements.
