Your oven allows you to either reheat items
manually, by choosing the cooking time and
method, or, for many popular dishes, to use the
automatic programmes which calculate the
cooking time and choose the best cooking
method for you.

Automatic Reheating

1. Stews
-
(300-800 g)
or goulash (industrially
prepared or home made. Heat
in a dish with lid, stir after half
cooking time and before standing time.
2. Plated meals
(200-500 g) - Industrially
prepared products or home made plated meals
with 3 components. Heat on a plate with cover.
Allow to stand 2 minutes after heating.
1. Frozen chips
(200-500 g) - Frozen chips
suitable for cooking in an
oven, instrustrially prepared.
Remove all packaging and
place directly on enamel tray on wire rack. Turn
after
1
cooking time.

2. Frozen pizza
(100-450 g) - For heating and
browing industrially prepared frozen pizza. Place
on the wire rack on the enamel tray. The results
will vary depending on the topping (vegetables
and seafood will take longer to reheat and brown
than cheese or pepperoni) and depending on the
thickness of the base.
Manual Reheating
(microwave or combination):
All sauces or food items which are liquid or
"moist" should be reheated using microwave
only (dishes in sauce, ravioli, pureed food,
soup, vegetables, starchy food etc.). Food
which must be browned or crispy (gratins,
quiches, pies, pizzas, filled-pastry items, sweet
pastries etc.) should be reheated using
combination cooking.

Container and accessories:
microwaves only:
the food to be reheated
should be placed in containers which are
microwave safe, pyrex®, or ovenproof
porcelain. It is recommended to take food out of
any plastic sachets it may be contained in, as
these could cause the reheating to be very
uneven. It is also more difficult to remove this
packaging when the sachets are piping hot.
Food contained in 2 separate packets (for
example rice and meat for a curry) should if
possible be mixed in order to avoid uneven
temperatures; the more fatty food (e.g. meat)
should be placed in the middle or underneath,
with the food which is denser or contains more
water (e.g. vegetables or potatoes) should be
placed around the outside. Cover the dish or
plate with cling film or a lid. Most packaged
ready-meals give instructions for reheating in
the microwave. Follow the manufacturerʼs
advice but check the temperature of food
before eating and increase the reheating time if
necessary.
combination cooking:
from dry food items (deep pan pizzas or pizzas
for cooking). For moist food items (gratins,
lasagnes, shepherdʼs pie etc.) it is preferable to
use dishes which are microwave safe and heat-
resistant, which you place on the metal tray or
the wire rack according to their thickness.
DO NOT place metal or aluminium containers
or aluminium directly on the wire rack.
Preheating (when using Convection mode) is
often recommended. See the charts on page
18 onwards.
