Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Das Produkt ist zum Betrieb in einem PCMCIA-Port eines Notebooks vorgesehen. Dort erlaubt es das
Auslesen bzw. Beschreiben von Speicherkarten in den Formaten SD, MMC, Memorystick und XD.
Alle enthaltenen Firmennamen und Produktbezeichnungen sind Warenzeichen der jeweiligen
Inhaber. Alle Rechte vorbehalten.

Einsetzen einer Speicherkarte; Einstecken des PCMCIA-Adapters
• Schieben Sie die Speicherkarte in den Einschub des PCMCIA-Kartenlesers, achten Sie auf die richtige
Orientierung. Wenden Sie beim Einsetzen der Speicherkarte keine Gewalt an!
• Stecken Sie den PCMCIA-Kartenleser in den PCMCIA-Port Ihres Notebooks. Wenden Sie auch hier
keine Gewalt an, der PCMCIA-Kartenleser muss sich leicht einschieben und einrasten lassen. Nur eine
Orientierung ist richtig!
Wenn Ihr Computer über mehrere PCMCIA-Ports verfügt, so ist es unerheblich, welchen davon Sie
verwenden.
• Zum Auswerfen der PCMCIA-Karte verfügen die meisten Notebooks über kleine Drucktasten neben dem
PCMCIA-Einschub. Beachten Sie die Anleitung des Notebooks, wie PCMCIA-Karten eingesetzt bzw.
entfernt werden.
• Ziehen Sie danach die Speicherkarte aus dem PCMCIA-Kartenleser.
Treiber-Installation
Windows erkennt das Gerät automatisch, die Treiber sind in Windows enhalten. Deshalb liegt auch kein
Treiber-Datenträger bei.
Auslesen einer Speicherkarte
Der PCMCIA-Kartenleser mit eingesetzer Speicherkarte wird wie ein Wechseldatenträger-Laufwerk einge-
bunden. Ein zusätzlicher Laufwerksbuchstabe wird von Windows automatisch vergeben.
Im Datei-Explorer können Sie jetzt die Daten auf der Speicherkarte auslesen (oder Daten auf die
Speicherkarte schreiben), genauso wie von Festplatte oder Diskettenlaufwerk gewohnt.
Beim Löschen von Dateien einer SD- bzw. Memorystick-Speicherkarte ist darauf zu achten, dass der
Schreibschutz der Karte ausgeschaltet ist.
Tipps und Hinweise
• Bevor Sie den Notebook ausschalten, entfernen Sie den PCMCIA-Kartenleser mit der eingesetzten
Speicherkarte aus dem Notebook.
• Die maximal erzielbare Schreib-/Lesegeschwindigkeit ist abhängig von der verwendeten Speicherkarte.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie das Produkt am Ende seiner Lebensdauer gemäß den geltenden gesetzli-
chen Bestimmungen.

Prescribed Use
The product is intended for being used in a PCMCIA port of a notebook computer. There, it ensures reading
of and writing on memory cards of the formats SD, MMC, Memorystick and XD.

Insering a Memory Card & Connection of the PCMCIS Adapter
• Slide the memory card into the slot of the PCMCIA card reader and observe correct orientation. Do not
use force for inserting the memory card!
• Connect the PCMCIA card reader to the PCMCIA port of your notebook computer. Do not use force! The
PCMCIA card reader must easily slide in and lock into place. There is only one possible correct orientation!
If your computer is provided with several PCMCIA ports, it does not matter which one
you use.
• For ejection of the PCMCIA card, most notebook computers are equipped with small press buttons next
to the PCMCIA slot. Please observe the operating manual of your notebbok computer for inserting or
removing PCMCIA cards.
• Then, remove the memory card from the PCMCIA card reader.
Driver Installation
Windows automatically recognizes the device and the drivers are included in Windows. Therefore, no driver
data carrier is included in the delivery.
Reading a Memory Card
The PCMCIA card reader with inserted memory card is used like a removable media drive. Additional drive
letters are automatically assigned by Windows.
In the file explorer, you can now read the data of the memory card (or write dtata on the memory card) as
you know it from hard disks or floppy drives.
For deleting files of a SD or Memorystick memory card, observe that the read-only protection of the card is
switched off.
Tips and Notes
• Before switching off the notebook computer, remove the PCMCIA card reader with the inserted memory
card from your notebook computer.
• The maximum reading/writing speed depends on the type of memory card that is used.
