Alarm
When the Detector sounds the alarm, immediately open all doors
and windows, extinguish naked flame and prevent sparking, do not
switch any electrical appliances on, switch off all lamps/luminaires.
If possible, turn the gas supply off.
In the event of a leak in gas systems/heating sy-
stems, immediately notify a qualified expert. Do not
attempt to deal with the fault yourself.
Testing the Gas Detector
Hold a gas lighter near the gas sensor (2), allow gas to escape from
the lighter without the flame burning, the Gas Detector must emit a
high-pitched tone and the LED display must light up red. If this
does not happen, the batteries are flat or the Gas Detector is faulty.
False Alarms
Because the Gas Detector is extremely sensitive, the possibility of
false alarms caused by other gaseous substances such as aerosols
(hair sprays, propellant, cigarette smoke, etc.) cannot be ruled out.

Maintenance
Regularly check that the Gas Detector is safe. It can be assumed
that correct operation is no longer possible if:
• the device shows visible signs of damage
• it has been stored under unfavourable conditions for a relatively
long period of time
• it has been exposed to severe stresses during transport
• the test function described above does not complete satis-
factorily.
In addition, only use a soft, dry cloth or brush to clean the outside
of the device. Under no circumstances use aggressive solvents or
chemical solvents because they may corrode the housing or have
an adverse effect on the functioning of the device.
Avoid touching the gas sensor (2) or cleaning it in
any way whatsoever. Do not attempt to open the
housing, apart from the battery compartment.
Disposal
If the device is no longer usable, dispose of it in accordance with
the applicable statutory requirements
