batteries!
Version 01/15
• Charge the solar-powered torch on a regular basis even if it is not used (approximately every
°
3 months). Otherwise, it may result in a deep discharge of the battery, thus making it perma-
nently unusable.
No initial discharge is required during charging due to the rechargeable batteries used.

Operation
a) Checking the charge level of the built-in rechargeable battery
Press the button (6) briefly to check the charge level of the built-in rechargeable battery. The
four red LEDs (7) indicate the charge level (1 LED = 25%, 2 LEDs = 50%, 3 LEDs = 75%,
4 LEDs = 100%). At the same time, the green LED lights up (USB power output is enabled).
After a few seconds, the LEDs turn off.
b) Charging the built-in rechargeable battery
During initial operation, the rechargeable battery is empty. Charge the battery via the
USB; allow the solar-powered torch to be connected to the USB power supply for a
period of 10 hours.
Charging via the solar cell
Place the solar-powered torch by ensuring that sufficient sunlight is falling on the solar cell (2).
The blue LED („C") lights up if there is charging current.
Important!
Protect the solar-powered torch from humidity and dampness.
Charging via USB
Connect the Micro-USB socket (4) by means of the included charging cable to a suitable USB
power adapter (e.g. the power adapter that came with your mobile device/ smartphone, if it can
supply an output current of at least 500 mA at an output voltage of 5 V/DC).
Alternatively, a USB port on a USB hub or a PC may be used.
Important!
Use only a USB port that can deliver a current of at least 500 mA, e.g. a USB port
on a USB hub with its own power adapter or USB port on a computer.
USB hubs without own power adapter do not supply enough power and are not suit-
able for charging the solar-powered torch.
Once the built-in rechargeable battery is fully charged, disconnect the solar-powered torch from
the voltage/ current supply.
