Operating the Timer

With the two buttons (2) and (3), set the desired time in steps of
one minute. By continuously holding one of the buttons the time
can be set very quickly. In the display (1), the two digits to the right
indicate the minutes and the two digits to the left indicate the
hours.
When the desired time has been set, the Timer can then be started
with the start/stop button (4). If the set time is under one hour, after
the Timer is started the display (1) then indicates minutes with the
two left-hand digits and seconds with the two right-hand digits.
To interrupt the process, press the start/stop button (4) again. Pres-
sing the button once more at any time restarts the Timer.
When the set time has elapsed, the Timer begins to bleep loudly.
To turn off the sounder press the start/stop button briefly.
There are two possibilities for mounting the Timer:
• Wall-mounting: insert a nail into the wall in the desired position
and hang the Timer from this using the hole provided (6).
• Table-mounting: there is a table stand near the battery compart-
ment cover (5); opening this out enables the Timer to stand on a
flat and level surface.
Maintenance and calibration
The Timer requires no servicing other than cleaning of the case or
the display as required.
Use only a dry, lint-free, anti-static cloth for cleaning.
6
Use no carbonaceous cleaners nor petrols, alcohols or
similar cleaning products, otherwise the case of the unit
can be attacked. In addition, health-endangering and
explosive gases can occur as a result. For cleaning also
use no pointed or sharp-edged tools !

Changing the battery

Environmental information!
It is the statutory duty of the user to return all used batteries
(from dry batteries to rechargeable and even lead-acid batte-
ries); disposal together with general domestic waste is forbid-
den.
Used batteries of any type can be returned both to our subsi-
diaries and to our headquarters in Hirschau, Germany, free of
charge and, as hitherto, also to communal disposal centres
(recycling centres committed to returns).
Play also your part in protecting the environment!
So that the Timer functions without problems, it must be fitted with
an AAA or compatible battery. If the display becomes darker during
use, the sounder becomes quieter or confused indications appear
on the display, then the battery must be replaced. Proceed as follo-
ws:
• simply push the battery compartment cover on the rear of the Ti-
mer down and away
• now remove the battery compartment cover and remove the bat-
tery
• insert the new battery correctly polarised and close the battery
compartment cover once again
