6. Functional Description

The "Clear Water Pump" is operated e.g. in a rainwater cistern or in a well with ground water. To that effect, the pump
can be submerged completely (submersion depth max. 5m; calculated from the lower side of the pump/suction hole
to the surface of the water).
A corresponding fastener with which the clear water pump can be fastened is located at the upper side.
The clear water pump must never be fastened via the power cord or the hose (e.g. to lift it up from the
well).
Fastening the pump by the power cord damages the latter; danger for life through electric shock!
Fastening the pump via the hose can cause the pump to slip off, thus damaging the power cord,
The clear water pump must always be operated in a way so that the suction hole is located on the bottom.
When installing the pump to suck water, in the case of flooding, (e.g. in the cellar) , that the height of the water is not
under 5cm. The pump does not function with a lower water height as it will suck air only.
Only clean water may be pumped; the max. grain size of impurities must not exceed 3mm. Coarser impurities (leaves,
dirt particles, stones etc.) block the suction holes; furthermore, they block the pump.
The clear water pump can be operated in two different ways:
1. Manual mode
The float switch is inserted on the side to the clear water pump (see illustration in chapter 7).
The water pump runs continuously as long as it is connected to the mains voltage. In this operating mode, the clear
water pump must never be put into operation without surveillance (dry run possible, damages to the water pump,
as well as risk of fire through overheating!).
2. Automatic operation
The float switch is taken off the clear water pump (pull it all the way to the top and let it and let it hang freely there).
Due to buoyant force it will swim on the water. When the water level sinks below a certain height, the float switch
will automatically turn off the clear water pump. Running the pump without surveillance is possible.
The float switch must not be blocked, pay attention to sufficient space e.g. to the edge of the cistern or
the well. The float switch has to be able to move freely.
Coarser impurities in the conveying liquid could not only block the suction hole of the clear water pump but also
the pump itself.
For this reason, a regular control of the correct functioning of the clear water pump is necessary!
