Light „Messina"
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The light can be equipped with an E27 bulb with max. 100 W. It serves for illumination
in indoor and outdoor areas. The product can be mounted to e.g. a wall or ceiling using
the pre-assembled mounting bracket; a ground spike included in the delivery can be
used for easy arrangement of the light e.g. in the garden.
Any other use than that described above may damage the product. Moreover, this
may give rise to hazards such as short-circuiting, fi re, electric shock, etc. No part of the
product may be modifi ed or converted!
The safety instructions must be observed at all times!

Explanation of Symbols, Inscriptions
The lightning symbol indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock.
This symbol indicates specifi c risks associated with handling, function and
use.
The "arrow" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Keep a minimum clearance between the light outlet and the il-
luminated areas (e.g. easily fl ammable objects such as curtains
or the like). The appropriate minimum distance is specifi ed on
the bulb (in the illustration to the left, the minimum distance is
0.5m).
Defective safety glass must be replaced immediately; if the safe-
ty glass is defective the product must not be used.
IP65 The product is suitable for use outdoors.

Safety Instructions

Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product,
as it contains important information about the correct installation and
operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to ob-
serve these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any
consequential damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The
warranty will be void in such cases!
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is not al-
lowed for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children! There
is the risk of a fatal electric shock!

• The product may only be operated on the mains voltage (see section "Tech-
nical Data"). Never try to operate the product at another voltage as this will
cause its destruction.
• The product is designed to comply with protection class I; it has an IP44
European power plug.
An appropriate power socket complying with IP44 must be used in outdoor
areas.
Extension cables must also be appropriate for use in outdoor areas, if ap-
plicable. Make sure that the plug connection is never in or under water, e.g.
in puddles or in areas where water might accumulate during rain or fl ooding.
• The product complies with IP65; it can be mounted and operated in indoor
and outdoor areas. However, never mount it to or inside vehicles.
The product must never be operated in or under water, this will damage it.
This might cause a lethal electric shock!
• The bulb may only be inserted or replaced when the light is disconnected
from the mains. Also make sure that humidity does not penetrate the light;
do not open the light during precipitation.
• Do not use this lamp in spaces or under adverse ambient conditions where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of
explosion!
• Do not hang or attach objects (e.g. decorative material) to the light, there is
a risk of fi re!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible,
disconnect the product immediately and secure it against accidental opera-
tion. Let an expert check the product.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work at all or well (fl ickering light, leaking smoke or a
smell of burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or
the adjacent surfaces.)
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of
time or
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the em-
ployer's liability insurance association for electrical systems and operating
facilities are to be observed!
