Getting started

The bar code scanner works with practically any device (computer, notebook, mobile, tablet,
etc.). The important thing is that the device have a Bluetooth
operating systems are supported, please see the technical data of these instructions.
To use the scanner, you need only connect it to e.g. your computer via Bluetooth
recognized there as an input device, e.g. like a keyboard. That means you can use the scanner
with any application you choose, as long as keyboard input is possible with that program.
To start using the bar code scanner, proceed as follows.
Charging the scanner:
• Before you use the scanner the first time, charge the rechargeable battery completely. This
takes about 4 to 5 hours.
• To do this, first open the rubber cover on the lower end of the scanner, at the point where you
can also attach the wrist loop. You can pull the cover out using just your fingernail.
• Next, connect the enclosed mini USB cable to the USB socket of the scanner.
• Now connect the USB cable to the USB port at which you want to charge the scanner. This
can be a USB port of a computer or even the port of a USB power supply.
• During charging, the LED of the scanner slowly flashes orange. As soon as the charging
process is finished, it lights up a steady orange.
When the battery is flat again, the orange LED begins to flash, and the scanner
beeps once. When the scanner then switches off, recharge the battery completely
before using the scanner again.
If the scanner is in energy-saving mode during charging, the LED does not flash or
light up.
Connecting the scanner to your device (Bluetooth
• First, turn on the bar code scanner. Press the middle, orange button briefly. If the scanner is
not in the normal stand-by mode, but in deep-sleep mode, you must hold down the button for
8 seconds. First the LED blinks quickly orange. Then the scanner beeps once. When the LED
briefly lights up a steady red, the scanner is active.
• Next, you have to select the profile that your device uses. An iPad, for example, uses the
"HID" profile, as does an Android smartphone from Samsung.
To select the "HID" profile, read the two codes A1 and A2 (for the "SPP" profile, read the
codes B1 and B2) from the English programming instructions. When you read the code A1,
the LED must first flash orange fast for a short time. Then the scanner beeps, and finally the
LED lights up a steady red for a short time.
If the LED does not flash orange fast for a moment, re-read the code A1. Only then should
you read the code A2. Here the LED first lights up a steady green; then the scanner beeps,
and finally the LED lights up a steady red again.
• Now activate Bluetooth
on the device on which you want to register the bar code scanner.

See the corresponding instructions for your device to find out details on how to proceed here.
• E.g. for Android, open the settings, switch to Connections and switch Bluetooth
the sliding switch. The search for devices occurs automatically. You may need to repeat the
search.
• The scanner is recognized e.g. as "R-A0E123". You may need to confirm the connection by
tapping on the name.
• As soon as it shows on your device as being coupled, the scanner is ready to use.
• To disconnect again, open the Options and select Uncouple. To do this on an Apple device,
