Operation

• Place the device on a clean, horizontal, safe, stable and heat resistant surface.
• Check whether the on/off switch on the back of the device is off. The switch must be switched
to O.
• The soldering iron together with the soldering tip and the connection cable form one unit.
Connect the connection cable's round plug to the socket
iron station.
• Remove the plastic cover from the soldering tip and insert the soldering tip into the spiral
holder on the soldering iron station.
• Turn the control dial on the front of the device counter clockwise to the lowest power
level MIN.
• Connect the power plug to an appropriate power outlet.
• Turn on the soldering iron station by switching the on/off switch on the back of the device to I.
The power indicator POWER on the front of the device lights up red.
• Turn the control dial clockwise to the desired power level. At room temperature, the soldering
tip takes approx. 60 seconds to heat up to a temperature of approx. 260 °C.
• Begin the soldering job as soon as the device has heated up sufficiently. Do not operate the
device continuously at the highest power level. After a maximum of 15 minutes of continuous
operation at the highest power level, turn the control dial to the medium power level to
prevent the soldering tip from overstraining.
• During breaks or after completing a job, put down the soldering iron in the spiral holder on
the soldering iron station with the soldering tip facing downward. Turn the control dial to a low
power level during breaks.
• Turn the control dial counter clockwise to MIN after completing a job.
• Switch the on/off switch to O to turn off the device.
• Unplug the device and allow it to cool down sufficiently at a safe location.

Maintenance and cleaning

Only a specialist who is familiar with the risks and relevant regulations may carry out
repairs / open the housing.
Before starting to clean or maintain, the device must be disconnected from the
mains. Allow the device to cool down sufficiently.
a) General
• There are no components located inside the product you need to maintain. Never open/
dismantle the product.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as
they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Do not use a file or sandpaper to clean the soldering tip. This may damage the soldering tip.
Use a slightly damp sponge to clean the soldering tip and remove soldering flux and soldering
wire residue. Dry the soldering tip thoroughly after cleaning.
• Clean the exterior of the device only with a soft, dry cloth or brush.
b) Replacing the soldering tip
• Before detaching/replacing the soldering tip turn the device off and unplug it from the power
outlet. Allow the soldering iron to cool down sufficiently.
• Replace the soldering tip if it is damaged or worn out.
If the soldering tip has loosened after a few hours of operation, remove it and
compress it lightly with a suitable tool on the opening for the heating element.
