The prototypical construction of this model requires
or causes the following
• the track on your layout must meet high standards
for precision and construction. While the Märklin C
or K Track meets these standards, M Track might not
always meet them due to greater tolerances caused
by years of operation. For that reason you may have
operating problems in these situations when running
the rail bus at extremely slow speeds or fast speeds
through turnouts.
• the coupler pockets are mounted lower than the NEM
362 standard. For that reason only the couplers included
with the rail bus may be used in these coupler pockets.
• the wheels are mounted deep up in the floor of the rail
bus and are therefore inaccessible for changing traction
tires when the latter becomes necessary. When changing
traction tires becomes necessary after a long period of
operation, the rail bus must be disassembled carefully
until the wheel set can be removed – see page 34
• never connect 2 rail bus cars with motors to each other
at the current-conducting coupler pocket
The maintenance work necessary with normal operation
of this locomotive is described below. Please see your
authorized Märklin dealer for repairs or spare parts.
