Connecting the signal inputs

When connecting the signal inputs, make sure that the connection cables are not pinched
or damaged by sharp edges.
The inputs must only be connected to low level audio outputs from audio equipment and
microphones.
The speaker and the connected devices must be switched off during the installation process.
Use only suitably shielded audio cables to connect to the inputs The use of incorrect
cables may lead to interference.
In order to avoid distortions or misalignments that can cause damage to the speaker, the
audio inputs must only be connected to corresponding outputs.
Lay the connection cables so that they do not present a tripping hazard.
• Connect the earphone output from an MP3 player or stereo line output from another audio device to the
STEREO IN (1) port.
• If the output of your device has a 3.5 mm jack, use appropriate adapters.
• Connect LINE IN (2) to the pre-amplifi er of the upstream audio device (e.g. mixer).
• Connect your microphone to the MIC IN connector (3). Dynamic microphones and condenser microphones
with their own power supply can be connected here.

Mains Connection

The electrical socket to which the speaker is connected must be easily accessible. Thus if
there is a fault the device can easily be disconnected from the mains power supply.
The speaker and all connected devices must be turned off when connecting the power
supply.
Ensure that all the electrical connections and connection cables between the different de-
vices and any extension cables comply with the regulations and comply with the operating
instructions.
Before you connect, check that the supply voltage specifi ed on the device matches the
voltage of your electricity company. Never connect the speaker to a different mains volt-
age. This will destroy the speaker and there will be a risk of fi re or electric shock.
• Insert the appliance plug of the power cable into the power connector on the rear panel.
• Plug the power plug of the power supply cable into a wall socket.
• Switch the speaker on or off with the POWER switch next to the power connector.
"O" or "OFF" position. Device is switched off.
"I" or "ON" position. Device is switched on.
• When the device is switched on the POWER LED in the status display (4) lights up.

Getting Started and Operation

Only put the appliance into operation when you have familiarised yourself with its features
and these operating instructions. Check again that all the connections are correct.
Do not operate the product if it is damaged.
Always turn the speaker on last and off fi rst. This will prevent interference noise, such as
that which occurs when you turn off a mixer, from damaging the speaker.
The device may only be operated by persons familiar with the operating instructions. Keep
other persons and children away from the device.
• Turn the knobs LINE (8), MIC (9) and MASTER (10) all the way back (to the left).
• Switch on the connected mixer and start the playback.
• Turn the speaker on with the POWER switch on the back.
• The POWER LED status indicator (4) lights up.
• The SIGNAL LED on the status indicator (4) lights up when an audio signal is detected.
• Turn the MASTER (10) to a medium setting in the fi rst third of the control range.
• Adjust the volume on the mixer to about 75% of the maximum volume or to the maximum undistorted level
(shown for devices with level meters at the "0 dB" mark).
• Adjust the volume of the line input and microphone input with the controls LINE (8) and MIC (9) next to each
other. The input STEREO IN (1) is not adjustable. However, you can control the level of this input with the
volume control on the connected device.
• The total volume of the speaker is controlled with the MASTER (10).
When the built-in limiter is activated, the LIMIT LED status indicator (4) lights up. This limiter prevents
overloading the speaker. If the LED LIMIT is lit, the volume must not be further increased.
• Change the tone of the speaker with the controls BASS (5), MID (6) and HIGH (7). BASS controls the bass,
MID the midrange, and HIGH the high frequency range. . BASS controls the bass, MID the midrange and
HIGH the high frequency range. .
• To disable the entire system, fi rst please switch off the speaker with the POWER switch and then the con-
nected devices.
Maintenance and Care
The speaker is maintenance-free.
Externally, they should be wiped with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The upholstery panels can be gently
brushed or vacuumed. Make sure that the sensitive speaker membranes are not touched.
Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical solutions for cleaning, otherwise the surface of the case or the
membranes can be damaged ..
Fuse replacement
If fuses have to be changed, make sure that they are replaced only with fuses of the same type and rated
current (refer to the "Technical data").
Do not repair fuses or bridge the fuse holders.
• After power disconnection (pull the plug!), pull out the mains plug from the power connector on the rear
panel.
• Pry out the fuse holder with the defective fuse at the network connection.
• Remove the defective fuse and replace it with a fuse of the same type.
• Now, carefully replace the fuse holder with the new fuse.
• Afterward, reconnect the mains cable to the device and plug into a socket.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
