Inserting/Replacing the Battery/Rechargeable Battery
• Open the battery compartment (6) on the rear of the case and insert two batteries of type AAA/
Micro with the correct polarity.
• The correct polarity is indicated in the battery compartment (6).
• After inserting the batteries, the LC-display (2) starts to flash and you can set the time zone and
the display language (see section "Initial start-up").
• Next, the radio alarm clock attempts to receive the DCF signal (see section: "DCF Reception").
• Close the battery compartment (6) again.
• Replacing the batteries is necessary when the battery warning symbol appears on the LC-dis-
play (2).
The use of rechargeable batteries is possible. However, the lower operating voltage
(rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, battery 1.5 V) and lower capacity will reduce the operat-
ing time.
If there is no proper indication on the LC-display (2), press the RESET button (7) to acti-
vate the reset function. The internal processor thereby is reset and is able to function
correctly again.
Initial Start Up
• After inserting the batteries the indication "01" flashes on the display. This indicates the Central
European Time zone (CET).
• Set the desired time zone by turning the multifunctional button (4).
• Press the ZONE button (5) to confirm.
• Afterwards, also set the desired display language for the weekday display by turning the multi-
functional button (4).
• Press the ZONE button (5) again to confirm.
If no keystroke is performed for ten seconds during the initial start-up, the radio alarm
clock exits this setting and then starts the DCF reception.
