Checking the smoke detector

Test realization
In principle, the smoke detector checks itself and its environment. However, we recommend
carrying out a functional test yourself at least once a year. In addition, no maintenance of the
smoke detector is required.
Do not use an open flame or smoke to test the smoke detector!
To test that the smoke detector is ready for operation, press the user button until the signal
tone sounds.
The beep lasts 1 second and has a reduced volume.

The optical signal is given by the red LED, lights up for 1 second.

If no signal tone sounds when the user button is pressed, the smoke alarm device is defective.
In this case, contact the person responsible for the maintenance of the smoke detector as
soon as possible.
After the test, the detector goes into the alarm mute mode for 15 minutes. During this
time, the smoke detector does not trigger an alarm. After 15 minutes, the smoke detec-
tor automatically returns to normal operation.
