C Positioning during use
Always use the current clamp so that the LCD display can be read,
i.e. with the digital display facing the user.

Performing measurements

General
The auxiliary function "Hold" can be switched on or off by opera-
ting the "HOLD" button. With this auxiliary function, the instanta-
neous measured value is held and remains in the display until the
function is switched off.
Attention!
Under no circumstances exceed the 600 AAC rms
maximum permissible input value. During this, in no
case may the voltage be higher than 600VAC rms in
Overvoltage Category II (domestic and commercial
areas) or 300 VAC rms in the Overvoltage Category
III (industrial areas)! The frequency of the AC values
may not exceed 100 Hz! Touch no circuits or circuit
components where voltages higher than 25 VAC
rms or 35 VDC can be present! Danger to life
AC current measurement
To measure AC currents, proceed as follows:
Switch the clamp ammeter.
Open the current clamp with the clamp opening lever. Do not enc-
lose more than one insulated cable in a single-phase system or se-
veral insulated cables in a multiphase system.

Attention!
Just below the clamp opening is a hand protector,
a plastic ridge. During measurements or while en-
closing the cable or current rail, never grip beyond
the hand protector - DANGER TO LIFE !
Close the clamp around the current-carrying conductor by relea-
sing the clamp opening lever. The contact surfaces of the clamp
must be securely closed and the conductor(s) must move freely in
the clamp opening. Take care that while taking a reading, the con-
ductor is located as centrally as possible (in the centre of the opening).

Disposal

If the current clamp does not operate despite good supply (2 x 1.5
V batteries) or can no longer be repaired, then it must be disposed
of in accordance with applicable statutory regulations.

Maintenance and calibration

Other than changing the battery and an occasional clean, the Cur-
rent Clamp F 100 is maintenance-free. Unauthorised modifications
or repairs to or in the measuring instrument will void any guarantee
claims.
Battery changing can be found under "Handling". To clean the unit
or the display window, take a clean, lint-free, anti-static, dry clea-
ning cloth.
Attention!
Use no carbonaceous cleaners, petrol, alcohol or
similar for cleaning. These will attack the surface of
the measuring instrument. In addition, the fumes
are explosive and damaging to health. When clea-
