Instruction Manual
Please read the following instructions carefully before using the device and keep them for further reference.
The drinking fountain Vital Flow is a fountain of freshness for your pet. Many cats and dogs prefer to drink flowing water. In contrast to
the stagnant water in a bowl, it resembles natural sources of water such as brooks and ponds. Some pets completely avoid a simple
water bowl and do not drink sufficient water because of that.
In this case, Vital Flow is the ideal solution. It provides flowing water and encourages the pet to drink. The bubbling enriches the water
with oxygen and cools it naturally. A filter additionally cleans the water.
First use:
1. First guide the power cable of the pump through the cable duct and out of the inside of the bowl.
2. Now connect it to the adaptor and place the filter around the pump as protection.
3. The pump is attached to the upper part of the drinking fountain by means of the hose. Now place the lid on the container and attach the
pump to the bottom with suction cups.
4. Next fill the container with a sufficient supply of water. Do not let the pump run without water. If you hear that the pump sucks in air
and is louder than usual, the water level is too low. Fill in more water immediately.
5. Connect the plug to a mains socket.
6. The adjustable pump allows you to adjust the jet of water yourself. To do that, move the slider on the pump in the direction of plus
or minus.
Please note:
•
Make sure that the hose of the upper part is connected to the pump.
•
Never let the pump run without water or with a water level that is too low.
•
Unplug the device before doing any maintenance.

other way.
•

higher than the drinking fountain.
•
Please note that this device should not be disposed of with the household waste. Take it to a disposal facility that corresponds to the
device category.
•
The pump included and the adaptor are available separately as replacement parts (items no. 24466-30).
Cleaning:
If Vital Flow is used by one pet, the water should be changed at least every two days. Filter and pump should be cleaned once a week
(depending how often the device is used). In shorter time spans if the device is used by several animals.
The pump is easy to remove for cleaning with the two suction cups, and the plastic parts and the filter can be cleaned.
The fountain itself is made of ceramic and therefore dishwasher safe.
For hard water it is recommended not to use tap water, but still mineral water instead. If you do use hard tap water, the pump needs
to be cleaned more often to prevent calcifying. Otherwise it could become necessary to treat the pump with a decalcifier from time to
time.
Acquainting your pet with the fountain:
To acquaint easily scared pets with Vital Flow, place e.g. some treats on the rim of the fountain. That way, your pet connects the fountain
Vital Flow with a positive experience.
