3.1 Approval
The control system AV-3800RM is approved for oper-
ation in the Federal Republic of Germany. The ap-
proval number can be found in the specifications. For
operation in other countries, please contact your re-
tailer, the MONACOR subsidiary, or the correspond-
ing authorities in the country where this unit will be
operated.
4 Installation
4.1 Placing the transmitter
Practical experience has shown that an optimum
transmission is obtained when placing the units at a
minimum height of 1.5 m to 2 m above the ground.
Prior to final mounting, a trial run is recommended as
the transmission quality can be substantially changed
by displacing the transmitter by a few centimetres only.
4.2 Mounting the transmitter
1) Remove the inner part (2) from the housing first.
For this purpose, press the two latches (1) outward
so that the inner part can be pulled out.
2) Use the bracket (3) to attach the inner part to a
wall or to a pole so that the cable inlets (4) point
downward and no rain will penetrate the unit.
In case of pole mounting, use the supplied
clamp with wing nuts and screws according to fig. 1.
3) After making the connection (chapter 4.3) and the
channel adjustment (chapter 4.4), place the hous-
ing.
4.3 Connections
1) Connect the plug of the supplied connection cable
to the 6-pole jack (16) of the control console.
2) Lead the other end of the connection cable
through the cable inlet (4) of the transmitter and
connect it to the terminal strip (7):

3) For power supply, connect the supplied power
supply unit to the control console:
a) On the power supply unit, set the output voltage
to 12 V. Slide the switch SPANNUNG (10) fully
to the left to position "12".
b) The power supply unit is supplied with eight
adapters. Connect the adapter with the identifi-
cation letter "G" and the marking "5.5X2.5" (9) to
the inline jack (8) of the power supply unit in such
a way that the marking "5.5X2.5" and the arrow
of the inline jack face each other (see fig. 3).

to terminal "GND"
to terminal "Ub +12 V"
c) Connect the power supply unit via the adapter
to the low voltage jack (17) of the control con-
sole.
d) Connect the power supply unit to a mains
socket (230 V~/50 Hz). The power LEDs "AN"
(11) on the power supply unit and "Power" (12)
on the control console light up to indicate that
the control system is ready for operation.
4.4 Adjusting the transmitting channel
The transmission of the control signals is made in the
range of 433 – 434 MHz which has been divided
by the manufacturer into 8 channels. The camera
AV-3800SET and the control system AV-3800RM
have been factory-set to channel 1. However, when
operating several cameras AV-3800SET at the same
time, different channels are adjusted. The adjusted
channel is indicated on the label on the rear side of
the camera to be controlled. It can be found in the
right half below the lettering "CommanderLink Re-
ceiver" and the BZT number. Use the selector switch
(5) to adjust the transmitter for the control signals to
the same channel:

5 Operation

1) After the supply voltage has been applied (see
chapter 4.3, item 3), the power LEDs "AN" (11) and
"Power" (12) light up and the control system is
ready for operation.
2) For panning and tilting the camera, move the con-
trol lever (15) in the corresponding direction.
3) For zooming, keep the button "Zoom" (13) pressed
in the direction "+" or "-" until the desired zoom
adjustment is reached.
4) The camera transmitter can be switched on or off
with the button "Commander On/Off" (14).
5) If the control system is not used for a longer
period, disconnect the power supply unit from the
mains socket, otherwise there will always be a low
current consumption.
