Safety instructions
Always observe the following safety instructions
before manoeuvring your caravan with the Mam-
mut drive.
CAUTION!
Risk of accident due to uncontrolled
motion!
As you cannot see the side of the cara-
van facing away from you when mano-
euvring, a second person is required du-
ring manoeuvring.
During operation, ensure that there is a large
enough safety distance from persons and ob-
jects.
Pay attention to a neutral support wheel po-
sition.
During manoeuvring, the operator must keep
a minimum distance of 0.5 m away from the
caravan.
Also check the side of the caravan facing
away from you.
If necessary, enlist the support of other per-
sons to safeguard the area.
During operation, do not reach between the
drive rollers and the wheel - Danger of crus-
hing!
The AL-KO Mammut must only be operated
by persons of full legal age.
During manoeuvring, there must be nobody
in the caravan.
The manoeuvring system
must not be used for manoeuvring or
turning on public roads.
must not be operated if the operator is
under the influence of alcohol, drugs or
medication
Special danger in the case of slopes / gradi-
ents:
Observe the maximum permissible gra-
dient.
Keep your distance from the caravan.
Always point the tow bar downhill.
Avoid coupling and uncoupling the cara-
van on sloping terrain.
Work steps
The numbers in brackets refer in this section to
Fig. 7.

1. Activate the drives and move the drives onto
the wheels.
2. Check that the drives are correctly engaged.
3. Release the parking brake on the caravan.
Observe the maximum permissible gradient!
4. To move the caravan, move the joystick
slowly in the desired direction
In area 1, the caravan moves forwards.
You can control the speed and the direc-
tion steplessly with the joystick.
In area 2, the caravan moves backwards.
In the left-hand and right-hand positions
(3 and 4), the caravan turns on the spot
in the specified direction
If you release the joystick, the drives stop
immediately and brake the caravan.
5. When the caravan has reached the desired
position, apply the handbrake of the caravan.
6. Disengage the drives from the wheels.
7. Hold down the buttons (d and e) until the
LEDs on the disengage buttons start to flas-
hand the operating state LED lights up conti-
nuously. Only then are the drives completely
retracted.
8. Check that both drives are correctly disenga-
ged.
9. Switch off the remote control at the main
switch (b).

HITCHING UP THE CARAVAN

When you want to hitch up your caravan, you can
use the AL-KO Mammut to manoeuvre the cara-
van directly over the tow hitch.
Work steps
1. Manoeuvre your caravan over the trailer cou-
pling of your vehicle.
2. Correctly couple the caravan.
3. Apply the handbrake on the caravan.
4. Then disengage the drives from the wheels.
The distance between the drive and the
wheel must be at least 20 mm.
If the distance is smaller and/or if the dri-
ves cannot be moved off the wheels, the
drives must be retracted manually.
Remove the fuse and disconnect the bat-
tery!
