CUSTOM TIDE
SET TIDE FOR YOUR HOME BREAK
The goal here is to dial in the tide for your home
break by calculating the DIFFERENCE in tide from a
pre-programmed location.
You'll need to first get the high or low tide time at
the location for a particular day. You can get tide
information on-line, newspapers, tide charts. Or
just observe high or low tide at your beach.
HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE: You want to program the tide
for Hollywood Beach which is located in the
Western USA, 15 miles south of Ventura and 80
miles north of Santa Monica (pre-programmed
locations).
1. You determine the high tide at Hollywood
Beach to be at 6:35 AM on Aug 13, 2001.
2. From LoDown Tide program, high tide at
Ventura (the closest location) is at 6:05 AM
on the same day.
Calculating the Offset: Ventura=6:05 AM;

Hollywood Beach=6:35 AM (-0:30 Min. is the
offset) or Hollywood Beach is 30 min. after Ventura.
With this information:
ENTER the TIDE mode by pressing MODE.
HOLD SET until "ZONE" appears.
Push START to WEST USA.
PRESS MODE and then press START until
"VENTURA" appears.
CHOOSE DST (daylight savings time) to be on or off.
PRESS MODE, "USER OPT" appears. Press START
and MODE to enter the letters for Hollywood.
AFTER the last character is entered and MODE is
pressed, "OFFSET" will appear.
PRESS STOP until (–30 MIN) appears.
PRESS SET to lock in your information.
The TIDE mode will now show the chart for Hollywood
Beach.
