Battery Charging
 Observe the mains voltage! The voltage of the power
supply must correspond with the data given on the name-
plate of the battery charger. Battery chargers marked with
230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Charging Procedure
The charging procedure starts as soon as the mains plug of
the battery charger is plugged into the socket outlet and the
battery is inserted into the charging compartment.
The battery charge indicator is not a charge-control indicator.
The lit indicator signalises the flow of charging current.
The charging procedure is not ended automatically. There-
fore, disconnect the battery charger from the mains supply af-
ter the battery has been charged and remove the battery. A
temperature increase of the battery indicates that the battery
is fully charged.
Note: The charging procedure is only possible when the bat-
tery temperature is within the allowable charging tempera-
ture range, see section "Technical Data".
Rapid-charging Procedure
The rapid-charging procedure is indicat-
ed by flashing of the charge control LED.

The battery is fully charged as soon as the LED switches from
flashing to being lit continuously. Afterwards the battery can
be removed for immediate use.
It is recommended not to remove the battery until the battery
is fully charged.
Trickle-charging Procedure
The trickle-charging procedure is indicat-
ed by continuous lighting of the LED.
With the battery fully charged, the charg-
er immediately switches to trickle-charge
mode. This equalizes the natural running-down of the battery
again.
Charging Advice
With continuous or several repetitive charging cycles without
interruption, the charger can warm up. This is not meaningful
and does not indicate a technical defect of the battery charg-
er.
A battery that is new or that has not been used for a longer pe-
riod will not achieve its full capacity until after approx. 5
charging and discharging cycles. Leave such a battery in the
battery charger until it has warmed up considerably.
A significantly reduced working period after charging indi-
cates that the battery is used and must be replaced.
Corrective Action
Remove cutting disc and mount blade guard again; also
see "Mounting"
Recharge battery; also see "Battery Charging"
Allow to cool/warm
