Controls and Connectors on the Backpanel
Satellite Filter
The satellites in such a system can be driven full range or with a 85Hz high
pass as recommended by Dolby® laboratories for use in surround set-ups.
Recommendation: If possible go with the main signal to the Sub8 first and
connect your satellites to the Sub8 output, be it XLR symmetrical or RCA asym-
metrical. To prevent the satellites from the low frequencies in most cases leads to a better
sound from your satellites, as they do not have to deliver the big amplitudes. Often clarity
and dynamic range of these speakers are improved that way.
Attention! If you switch the filter in or out, it often becomes necessary to switch the
phase as well - try it out please!

Final recommendation:
After using the set up a few times we recommend to test the position of the controls again.
In most cases, when the excitement about the new bottom has become less, you prefer a
solution with less bass level, and from our experience this will be the more correct one.
These stereo jacks - XLR in the balanced (also named: sym-
metrical), Cinch or RCA in the unbalanced (also named:
asymmetrical) case, should be connected to the output of
your mixing console or stereo/surround sound system.
These jacks should be connected to the inputs of your active
studio monitors or the inputs of a power amp that drives pas-
sive monitors. The signal is simultaneously available from all
connectors.
