• Remove the transport protection from the CD player
if present before use.

General Operation

NOTE:
• Some buttons are to be found both on the device
itself and on the remote control. Buttons with the same
designation have the same function.
• Operation of the unit is described by the buttons of the
remote control.
Infrared remote control
For wireless control at a distance of approx. 4 meters. If this
range decreases, the batteries must be replaced. During
use, ensure that there are no obstacles between the remote
control and the sensor (4) on the unit.
Turning the unit on/off
• Press the STANDBY button (23), to turn the unit on.
• Press the STANDBY button again to turn the unit off.
The power indicator lamp (10) lights up.
NOTE:
After approx. 15 minutes without a signal or if the signal is
too weak, the unit will automatically switch to standby.
Volume
You can use the VOL+/VOL- buttons (5) to set the desired
volume.
MUTE (1)
Quickly turn off the sound. The indication "MUTE" appears
in the display. To cancel this function, press
EQ (13)
(Preset equalizer function). There are different sound modes
available (FLAT, ROCK, CLASSIC, JAZZ, POP).
Setting the sleep timer
When the sleep timer has been set, the unit is switched off
after a preset time. Press the SLEEP button (14) to activate
the sleep timer. By repeatedly pressing the SLEEP button, the
off time can be set as 90, 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 minutes.
To turn off the sleep timer, press the SLEEP button until the
symbol "SL" on the display goes out. "S - 00" appears in the
display for a short amount of time.

Listening to the Radio

Find stations
1. Press the SOURCE button (8), until FM shows in the
display. Alternatively you can also press the FM button
(7) to select radio mode.
2. Use the buttons TUN+ (6) and TUN- (19) to tune to the
desired station. When you hold down either button, the
unit tunes to the next radio station. The display shows the
tuned frequency.
3. In case the reception is too weak and if the received
station has atmospheric noise, you will have the following
possibilities:
a) Switch the device to Mono operation. Press the ST/
MONO button (11) to do so. The stereo indicator "ST"
lights up on the display.
b) Try to improve the reception through a position
change or through coiling in and out of the antenna.
Save radio stations
The unit can store up to 30 radio stations. To store a station,
proceed as follows:
1. Find a station as described in "Find stations".
2. Press the MEMORY button (12). The display starts flash-
ing.
3. Use the buttons
where the station is to be stored.
4. Press the MEMORY button again. The station is stored
and the display stops flashing.
Call a stored radio station
• You can call the stored radio stations with the number
buttons (2). For stored radio stations above 10, first press
the 10+ button.
• Alternatively, you can also use the buttons
(5).
Automatic scanning
Briefly hold down the AUTO/STOP button (9). With this, the
entire frequency range is scanned automatically for stations.
The stations found by scanning are stored in ascending order
MUTE again.
in the memory locations 1 to 30.
NOTE:
The sequence cannot be changed afterwards. The preset
radio stations will be lost.

Playing CDs/MP3

This is how you play a CD
1. Press the SOURCE button (8) until dISC shows in the
display. Alternatively you can also press the CD button (17)
to select CD mode.
2. In order to open the CD compartment (1), press the
PUSH button.
3. Insert an audio CD with the printed side facing upwards
on to the central cone so that the CD clicks into place and
then close the lid of the CD compartment. The message
"rEAd" will be shown on the display for a short time.
For an audio CD: The total number of tracks and the
playing time of the CD is shown.
