How do I connect my ACTIVY Media Player from the living room to my router
for best performance?
For the best performance from your Digital Entertainer, a wired Ethernet
connection will enable HD video and high resolution photos to be streamed at
the highest bit rates. Secondarily, using ACTIVY Media Player 150 HD product
provides a next generation alternative to wireline and supports all but the most
demanding HD streaming and high resolution photos. For wireless 802.1 1 G
connection, you can expect to stream standard definition video, music and
standard resolution photos reliably although high network traffic and
interference may cause some audio/video interruptions.
The photos I see on my ACTIVY Media Player are not in high resolution, what
might be the problem?
Many media servers intentionally downscale photos in order to optimise the
speed of picture downloads. You might check your server software to see if you
can disable picture scaling to view photos in the higher resolution. However, the
WMC sewer only runs in optimised downscaled picture mode.
Only one video/song/photo plays when I select it, how do I play the entire list?
When selecting a video/song/photo to play, pressing the OK button on the
remote control plays just the selected file while pressing the PLAY/PAUSE
button plays the entire list of files.
The lights on the Ethernet port are not lit and my wired connection won't
work. What's wrong?
Try pushing the Uplink button next to the Ethernet port. You will need to power-
cycle ACTIVY Media Player to switch from wireless to wired.
Why isn't my USB drive recognised by the ACTIVY Media Player?
Some flash drives cannot currently be detected properly, in particular, devices
that claim to be "USB hubs," even if they are not. Also, the ACTIVY Media
Player 150 only supports drives formatted with the FAT file system. NTFS-
formatted drives will not work.
Can I connect my AppleB iPod to the ACTIVY Media Player?
Yes, simply connect the iPod's USB cable to the USB port and navigate the
iPod hard drive's folders until you see your music. However, you must have a
"Windows formatted iPod." A "Mac formatted iPod" will not be detected properly.
When I connect my iPod to the ACTIVY Media Player, I see strange folder
names and strange music file names. What do I do?
Unfortunately, iTunes does not store music files on the iPod with normal names.
The ACTIVY Media Player 150 can only display the filenames as they are
saved on the iPod.
