Basic safety information

Proper use
The filter is designed for the cleaning of water in
aquariums. It is intended to be used only in enclosed
rooms. Proper use also includes reading and
following these instructions, in particular the safety
information. Any other use, additional use or
unauthorised repairs and modifications are deemed
to be improper use. Improper use may result in
damage to property and injury to persons. Tetra
GmbH will not accept liability for damage caused by
improper use.
Prevention of electric shock
• Always connect the filter to a professionally
installed socket (230 V ~ 50 Hz).
• Make sure that the mains supply system is
protected by a residual current circuit-breaker
(maximum residual current 30 mA). If in doubt, ask
a professional electrician.
• Make sure that the socket is immune to the ingress
of water and moisture.
• Pull out the mains plug in the following situations:
− Each time before any skin contact with the water
− Before you carry out cleaning or maintenance
work
− If the filter, hoses, mains cable or mains plug
display any damage
− In the event of faults
• Never open the housing of the motor head.
• The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is
damaged the appliance should be scrapped.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from
8 years and above and persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of

experience and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall
not be made by children without supervision.
Design and operation
The filter cleans the water in an aquarium. The filter
case is positioned outside the aquarium. It is
connected by a hose to a water intake pipe on the
inside of the aquarium. The water which is drawn into
the filter case passes through various filter materials,
each of which removes specific dirt particles. The
filter materials clean the water by biological, chemical
and physical means. Then the cleaned water passes
through a hose to the flow return pipe and flows back
into the aquarium through spray bars.

 Press the four locking buckles up and at the same
time away from the filter case as illustrated.
 Pivot the locking buckles down and away.
