Disassembly

Step 1.
Remove excess moisture from inside the slide
assembly by blowing through the instrument while
opening the water key. Remove the mouthpiece.
Step 2.
Loosen the slide receiver lock nut and separate the
slide and bell sections.
Step 3.
Clean both sections with a soft cloth then place
them back into the case.

Inspection & Maintenance
Step 1.
Clean and dry the mouthpiece before placing it in
the case.
Step 2.
For instruments equipped with rotary valves,
regularly apply rotor oil to the rotor stem directly
between the stop arm and the top of the rotor
casing. Work the rotor back and forth several times
to evenly distribute the lubricant.
