Inserting/Changing the Batteries
If the display fades or fails, the batteries should be replaced.
1. Turn off the unit before changing the batteries. Use a suitable
Phillips or slotted screwdriver to loosen the 4 screws on the back
of the unit. Remove the back of the housing and take out the
spent button cell.
2. Reattach it with one of the same type and dimensions (LR44 /
AG13) which must be inserted with the plus side up.
3. Replace the back of the housing and the retaining screws.
Operation
Measuring the Temperature
1. Remove the protective sleeve from the measuring
stem.
2. Turn on the unit with the "ON/OFF" button. The
thermometer performs a brief display test and then
is ready to use. The measured values are dis-
played in "°C", with the C/F button on the back of
the unit the display can be set to "°F".
3. Stick the measuring stem with the measuring tip
into the object you intend to measure or insert it in
the powder or liquid you intend to measure. Wait
until the display has stabilised and then read the
temperature from the display.
4. Remove the thermometer from the measured
material and turn it off or have the mini-
mum/maximum values displayed.
5. Carefully clean the measuring stem, dry it and put
on the protective cover.
