Safety instructions

– In case you detect any transport damages during unpacking the appliance, please
contact your sales office.
– Before you use the appliance for the first time, please read the operating instructions
and pay particular attention to the following safety information.
– The warning and information signs attached to the appliance provide important
information for the safe operation.
– In addition to the information contained in the operating instructions, you must also
comply with all statutory regulations and provisions with respect to safety and the
prevention of accidents.
– The voltage indicated on the rating plate must correspond to the voltage of the power
source.
– Class I appliances may only be connected to properly earthed power sources.
– For this appliance you may exclusively use or replace mains cables of the type
indicated by the manufacturer. Please observe the maintenance instructions. See the
operating instructions for order numbers and types.
– If the appliance is switched on, temporary voltage drops are generated. In case of
unfavourable network conditions other appliances may be affected. With a network
impedance < 0.15 Ohm no disturbances are to be expected.
– Never touch the mains plug with wet hands.
– Please make sure not to run over, pinch or drag the mains cable or the extension lead;
otherwise it may be damaged. Protect the cable from heat, oil, and sharp edges.
– It is dangerous if the mains cable or the extension lead is run over during the
operation of rotating equipment (e.g. brush, abrasive disc, etc.) or comes into contact
with such equipment. In this case, the cable could be damaged, resulting in a serious
danger for appliance and operator.
– Always disconnect the appliance from the mains before you carry out any work on the
appliance (e.g. replacing the brush, attaching accessory parts, etc.).
– Before using the appliance, make sure that the appliance with the operating
equipment, in particular the mains cable and the extension lead, are in perfect
working order and safe to operate. Do not use the appliance if it is not in perfect
condition.
– Some appliances are equipped with a socket. Only use this socket for the connection
of accessory and attachment devices specified in the operating instructions.
– The appliance is no vacuum cleaner! Do not use to vacuum up dry dirt. The appliance
is only suited for vacuuming the parts rubbed off during polishing!
– This appliance is not suited for the suction of dust hazardous to health.
– Never vacuum up explosive or inflammable gases, liquids, or dust or undiluted acids
and solvents! These include benzene, paint thinners, or fuel oil which could form
explosive vapours or mixtures due to the turbulence with the suction air. In addition,
these substances include acetone, undiluted acids and solvents, aluminium and
magnesium dust. These substances may also act upon the materials used in the
appliance.
