15. TROUBLE SHOOTING

Symptom
During initial operation, the red
"active" and the green "auto-
matic switching device" LED's
continue to flash after 20 min.
One component or the whole
system is not working.
LED's are not lit.
The LED's for the the exten
sions are flickering. Messages
are not being displayed
correctly. Programmed switch-
ings are not being carried out.
One component is not reacting
when button is pressed.
The automatic switching device
is switched on, but is not
operating.
The appliances connected to
the SS or alarm switch are not
switching on automatically.
The motion detector is inactive
(recognisable by the short-term
illumination of the yellow
Movement is registered, the
alarm system is armed, but an
alarm is not triggered.

Cause
The power supply is being
affected by other appliances.
Plug socket(s) or extension
leads are not working properly.
Safety fuse has triggered.
Poor transmission quality via
the power supply. There are

The internal "Stop state"
of the component.
The light sensor on the central
control unit is being affected by
artificial sources of light (street
lighting, neon advertising,
aquarium etc.)
The electrical appliance is

The motion detector has been
located in a position where it
cannot recognise any move-

Remedy
Repeat initial operation
Check the voltage of the plug
socket. Check fuses.
Exchange extension lead.
Connect the STECOM compo
nents to another plug socket. If
several LED's are flickering,
connect the central control unit
to another plug socket.
Remove the component from
the socket, wait 10 seconds
and then replace.
Make sure that only natural
light daylight falls on the con-
trol unit. The control unit
(main) must also be in the
dark when it is dark outside.
Switch appliance on. Plug the
appliance in the wall socket
directly, and not via the alarm
system component.
Observe chapter 3 (locating
the system components) of
these operating instructions.
Disarm and then re-arm the
central control unit. This
should then automatically
return to the "general security".
