Example:
If you pressed 3 at step
the motion detector),
motion detector 1 will switch on the switching socket 3 when movement is registered.
You have "linked" the motion detector 1 to the switching socket 3.
By repeating the steps • to " you can "link" max. 4 motion detectors to max. 4 switching sok-
kets. You can also produce multiple links (e.g. 3 motion detectors with 1 switching socket).
To clear a "link" between a motion detector and a switching socket , keep the "automatic
switching device" button pressed for at least 5 seconds and then press one of the but
tons 1 to 4 simultaneously.
All "links" with the switching socket to which this button was allocated are now cleared. The
corresponding green LED extinguishes as acknowledgement.
Notes:
o
If an alarm triggers (system is armed) all switching sockets are switched on.
o
The switching socket is internally protected against spark generation. Due to this protec
tive measure, appliances with extreme low current consumption e.g. night lights for chil
dren or some flashlights, do not switch off completely.
11. TRANSMISSION VIA THE MAIN POWER SUPPLY
The exchange of messages and commands between the STECOM-Alarm-System components
is achieved through the transmission of digital signals via the main power supply in your home.
The main power supply is however foreseen to mainly distribute energy - here in the form of
electricity. Therefore it may be possible that the extended use of transmitting information does
not function trouble-free.
In order for the STECOM-Alarm-System to operate with reliability, the transmission is equipped
with a considerable security level.
The STECOM-Alarm-System is equipped with a transmission performance display, so that you
can check the quality of the link between the individual components and the control unit.
Therefore you can easily recognise, for each component individually, if transmitting difficulties
may arise.
Every LED on the control unit for the detectors (yellow), switching socket, alarm switch, siren
or parallel control unit (green) is indicated in a special way when the security level of the trans-
mission is noticeably reduced. You can continue to operate the system as required, the functio-
ning and operating of the alarm system is not altered in any way.
In this case, the LED display alternates between a rapid flashing and the normal display. This
informs you of the actual status of the components, as well as the fact that the transmission of
messages and commands is only "normal" i.e. without the security level.
No measures need to be taken, when this occurs for only a short period of time. If however the
indicator shows a lower performance often or even constantly, try to make an improvement by
for example using a different plug socket.
The system continues to operate correctly. However, if the quality of the transmission declines
further, then the reliable link between the control unit and individual components can no longer
be ensured, and if the link is interrupted and the system is armed, the control unit triggers a
tamper alarm.
If the transmission quality is reduced for a certain amount of time, it could be the case that an
electrical appliance e.g. an electrical tool, a computer, a television or video recorder, is respon-
sible. If you ascertain a connection and then do not use this appliance when the system is
armed, there should be no difficulties.
