Select Advanced->Settings to set:
- SMS: The SMS settings are: Save sent messages, Acknowledgment, Validity period,
Message type, Message centre number.

Flight Mode.
Note: Flight mode allows you to use only certain phone functions, which do not require
the use of the network.
- Sounds: Select Ringtone->Calls/SMS/MMS/Local Info/Alarm to customize the
ringtones for different functions. Select Key tone to set the keypad beeps.
Select Network beeps or Battery beeps to activate a beep for network or low battery
level.
- Display: Select Wallpaper to select a wallpaper from None, DayNight WP, Random,
My Stuff, Preloaded.
Select Screensavers to display an animation from the choices when the phone is in
standby mode.
Select Energy saving-> Backlight to set either Screen only or Full backlight.
Select Operator logo to display your operator' s logo on the idle screen (depending
on model).
- Battery status: To display the battery' s expected time before next charge.
- Date / Time: To set the date and time of your phone.
Select Automatic update to choose manual or automatic updating of date and time
(after switching on your phone or when going abroad for instance) (service depending
on the operator).
- Language: To choose your phone' s display language. If you select Automatic, the
language used will be the one determined by your SIM card.
- Shortcuts: To allocate functions to the directional keys of the navigator.
- Master reset: Reset the phone settings to the default.
Use a hands-free kit, if available.
Pull off the road and park before making or answering a call if driving conditions so

We also recommend that music and call volumes are set to a reasonable level.
NOTE! Excessive sound pressure from earphones can cause hearing loss.

regulations or rules.

Do not transport or store flammable gas, liquid, or explosives in the same compartment of
your vehicle as your mobile phone and accessories.

Wireless devices can cause interference in aircraft.

Do not use it on the ground without permission from the crew.

Contacts
Using the contacts
Entering the Contacts menu, the contacts list is displayed if you already have some
(otherwise, go to Storing a new contact).
When a contact is selected, the name, the number and the associated picture are
displayed. After pressing the

You can search for a contact quickly by typing the first letters (up to three).
Storing a new contact
There are two ways to store a contact:
1) By selecting Contacts->[Options]->Add phone contact or Add SIM contact.
2) Contacts->New contact->Phone, SIM card or Fixed directory (This menu restricts the
outgoing calls. The availability of this menu depends on your SIM.).

Connectivity
You can exchange various data with other devices (PC, mobile phones, personal
assistants, printers, etc.): images, sounds, photos, ToDo tasks, organiser events, contacts,
etc. Data exchange can be done through a USB cable or a Bluetooth connection.
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth is a technology used to establish a wireless connection with
other Bluetooth equipped devices: for example, with a wireless head-set or a car kit to
phone, or with a PC to exchange data. The range is about 10 m.
IMPORTANT:
1) The Off option ensures the best battery life for your phone.
2) Bluetooth security is better guarded when your phone remains invisible to the
other devices.
3) The code of the remote device may be predefined by the device manufacturer. In this
case, refer to the user manual of this device to find out this code.
- Network: To configure network preferences.
- Java: To set various parameters to download Java applications. It also allows you to
display the memory available for Java application.
- Browser: To set various parameters needed for WAP connections.
- USB Mode: To select a mode to connect the phone to a PC with a USB cable available
as an accessory.
Note: If a call comes in during an exchange of data with your PC, the link will be
interrupted and will have to be manually re-started.
- Synchronisation: Select Network (OTA) to synchronize your phonebook, your organizer
or your ToDos with your archives stored in your operator' s network depending on the
options offered by your operator with a GSM or GPRS connection from your phone.
Children
Keep the phone in a safe place out of the reach of small children. It includes small parts
which may cause a choking hazard if detached.
Emergency calls
Emergency calls may not be available under all mobile networks. Therefore, you
should never depend solely on the phone for emergency calls. Check with your local
service provider.
Battery information and care
You do not need to completely discharge the battery before recharging. Unlike other
battery systems, there is no memory effect that could compromise the battery' s
performance.
Use only LG batteries and chargers. LG chargers are designed to maximize the battery life.
Do not disassemble or short-circuit the battery pack.
Keep the metal contacts of the batterypack clean.
Replace the battery when it no longer provides acceptable performance. The battery pack
maybe recharged hundreds of times until it needs replacing.
Recharge the battery if it has not been used for a long time to maximize usability.
Do not expose the battery charger to direct sunlight or use it in high humidity, such as
in the bathroom.
Do not leave the battery in hot or cold places, this may deteriorate the battery
performance.
There is risk of explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
Dispose of used batteries according to the manufacturer' s instructions. Please recycle
when possible. Do not dispose as household waste.
If you need to replace the battery, take it to the nearest authorized LG Electronics service
point or dealer for assistance.
Always unplug the charger from the wall socket after the phone is fully charged to save
unnecessary power consumption of the charger.
