1. Intended Use
The alcohol test device AlcoQuant 6020 is a machine that
measures concentration of alcohol in breath and calculates
the blood alcohol concentration from the breath result.
2. Precautions
 Waiting periods: At least 15 minutes after last oral alcohol
cosumation. Do not eat, drink or smoke within that period.
 Do not bring high alcohol concentration in contact with the
sensor, e.g. by rinsing the mouth with high-concentrated
alcohol shortly before the measurement.
 Do not execute test in draughty surroundings or poor
ventilated rooms. This might have an influence on self-
ventilation of sensor.
 Kep sensor clean. Do not breathe tobacco smoke on the
sensor. Do not contaminate the sensor with saliva or other
substances. Contamination causes damage on sensor.
 Dispose mouth piece after use (do not clean or disinfect). Do
not reuse.
 After longer stroring evaluate three trial tests before testing
a sample
 Do not expose the AlcoQuant 6020 extreme heat or cold.
 Do not drop the AlcoQuant 6020.
 The saved datas in the memory stay saved even after
battery change.
 After cleaning/disinfication with alcohol wait at least 15
minutes before testing again.

The device has a data memory and a data interface (RS232).
The datas can be transferred and evaluated with the software
Datamanger Alco 60XX including a data cable to a PC.
Datamanager and data cable can be ordered serparately.
5. Ein/Ausschalten
Switch-on: Press key for approx. 1 second
It automatically performs a self test of the internal
functions and components. During the self test phase the
device version, the software version (Rev x.x0) and the date of
next calibration appear on the display for about 2 seconds.
After 3 seconds the device is now ready to start measuring
(green LED blinking at an interval of 1.5 seconds).
Switch-off: Press key for approx. 3 second
If no measuring procedure is carried out within 2.5
minutes of the device becoming ready to operate, the
AlcoQuant 6020 switches off automatically.

6. Operating Menu

After switch-on the device shows the menu „1. Active mode"
is enabled. Other options are available: 2 Passive Mode, 3 Last
measurement, 4 Settings, 5 Counter

7. Procedure of test
Measurement in active mode (menu point 1)
Put mouthpiece in mouthpiece port
of AlcoQuant 6020. After switch-on
the device operates automatically
in the active mode and the Display
shows "Ready". The measurement
is started automatically by blowing-
in the expiration air.
During sample collection the test
person must breathe into the
device with a sufficiently large
respiratory flow, evenly
without interruptions. A breathed
air volume from 1.2 liters must
achieved.
A proper blow-in procedure is
indicated by an audible signal and
the flashing yellow LED.
The blow-in procedure is finished if
no audible signal is present and the
yellow LED turns off.
