Insert the battery and connect it the right way round. If
it has been connected correctly, the red LED will flash
approx. every 30 seconds. The radio module is now in
standard mode and is not assigned to any radio group.
N.B.
• I f you change the DIP switches when the battery is
connected, the changes will not be applied until you
press the button <3s (Fig. 8.1).
In order to program the detectors, all radio modules/D
110 smoke detectors must first be commissioned, as
explained in the previous section. Ensure a minimum
distance of approx. 0.5 m between each device (Fig. 9).
Creating a radio group
Press and hold down the button (Fig. 8.1) on one of the
radio modules for approx. 2-3 seconds. The red LED
(Fig. 8.3) will start flashing approx. once per second.
Release the button. The radio module will remain in
programming mode for approx. 60 seconds. Then,
immediately press and hold down the button on one
of the other radio modules/D 110 smoke detectors for
approx. 2-3 seconds. The red LED will start flashing
approx. once per second. Release the button. The device
will remain in programming mode for approx. 60 seconds.
This will automatically add both devices to a radio group.
The entire programming process can last up to approx.
60 seconds. If programming was successful, the red
LEDs will light up continuously for 2-3 seconds on both
devices. If the red LEDs do not light up continuously for
2-3 seconds after a period of approx. 60 seconds, this
means that the programming process failed and the radio
114
modules/smoke detectors will return to standard mode.
If this happens, you will need to repeat the programming
procedure. You can assign a maximum of 30 radio
modules/D 110 smoke detectors to a single radio group.
Extending an existing radio group
To extend an existing radio group, choose one of the
radio modules/D 110 smoke detectors from the relevant
group and set this to programming mode by pressing
and holding down the button (Fig. 8.1) for approx. 2-3
seconds. The red LED (Fig. 8.3) will start flashing approx.
once per second. Release the button. The device will
remain in programming mode for approx. 60 seconds.
Then, immediately press and hold down the button on
the device you would like to add to the group for approx.
2-3 seconds. The red LED will start flashing approx. once
per second. Release the button. The device will remain
in programming mode for approx. 60 seconds. This will
automatically incorporate the device you want to add into
the existing radio group. The entire programming process
can last up to approx. 60 seconds.
Creating an additional radio group
Follow the instructions provided in the section entitled
"Creating a radio group". Simply program the radio
module/D 110 smoke detector that you want to include
in the additional radio group. In doing so, be sure not to
incorporate any devices from an existing radio group. You
can create up to 8 independent radio groups.
Deleting programmed settings/factory setting
Press and hold down the button (Fig. 8.1) on the radio
module that you want to delete for approx. 5 seconds until
the red LED (Fig. 8.3) starts flashing approx. twice per
second. When you have held the button down for approx.
