Commissioning

Insert the mains plug of the receiver in a regula-
tion power socket with PE for 230 V, 50 Hz.
Press the Standby button " " on the front of the
device.
Insert the connected devices' mains plug into the
mains socket and switch these on.
Switch on the AV channel on the TV set,
if necessary.
Please refer to your TV set's operating instruc-
tions for information on how to switch the "AV"
channel on.

Initial Installation

The first time the device is switched on the start
window of the installation assistant appears. With the
help of the installation menu you can easily make
the most important adjustments to the receiver.
The receiver comes from the factory with a
preinstalled ASTRA list. To use this, you can
leave the installation menu by pressing the
"EXIT" button.
At any time, if necessary, you can search for
new channels by using the "Channel Search"
menu. Proceed as on page 45 where "Channel
search" is described.
If you do not use the preinstalled ASTRA list,
proceed as described in the points below.
Use the "M CH-" or "L CH+" arrow keys to select
the desired option. Select by using the
" VOL+" or "
OSD language
In this option, you choose the desired on-screen
display language.
Dish Setup
The receiver comes from the factory with the
settings for a universal LNB (single system).
(good for most use):
If you want to adopt the standard settings, in the
"Satellite" column select the satellites "Ku_ASTRA
1H, 1KR, 1L, 1M". Confirm your selection by
pressing "OK".
At the lower edge of the screen, the received
signal strength of the satellite is shown near
"Quality".
Press the blue button to bring up the Scan Mode
menu.
If the standard settings don't work with your
receiver system, change the settings as shown
on page 45 under "Changing the satellite
settings".

In the Scan Mode menu, choose the desired
search mode. "Default" is for a fast transponder
search, and "Blind Scan" is for a frequency
search. The "NetWork" search mode carries out a
search specified by the satellite (if supported by
the satellite).
With "Crypted" you choose whether to search
All Channels or only free-to-air channels
(FTA Channels).
With "Service Type", you choose whether to
search for all channels (All), only TV channels
(DTV) or only for radio stations (Radio).
Press the OK button. A security prompt appears.
OK = The preset listings are deleted.
EXIT = The newly found channels will be added
to the preinstalled program menu.
Press the OK or "EXIT" button to start the search.
This process can last several minutes.
As soon as the Installation assistant has finished
the search run (100%), the device switches to
TV mode.

Switching on and off

To switch between standby mode and operating
mode, press the STANDBY

remote control or the " " button on the device.

Carrying out basic settings

Navigating in menus and sub-menus

In the Setup menu, you will find two menu levels:
• Main menu: The main level contains graphic
symbols.
• Submenu: Under each main menu entry, you will
find the corresponding submenu entries.
In the main menu, navigate using the " VOL+,
VOL-" arrow buttons on the remote control.
In the submenu, navigate using the "M CH-, L
CH+" arrow buttons on the remote control.
Make settings:
– with the " VOL+, VOL-" arrow keys.
– with the number buttons if the setting requires
numerical input.
To confirm the selected menu option, press the
"OK" key.
Press the "EXIT" key to change back to the last
menu level.
In order to exit the main menu, press the "EXIT"
button repeatedly.
The on-screen menu is closed and the screen is
switched to TV or radio mode.
The system settings must be adjusted to enable you
to use the receiver's full range of functions (see the
following Chapter).
Press the "MENU" key on the remote control.
