Weighted effective value of acceleration
The indicated weighted effective value of acceleration has been measured
against standard test procedures and can be used by way of comparison with
another device. The indicated weighted effective value of acceleration can also
be used as a preliminary evaluation of the exposure.
CAUTION
The indicated weighted effective value of acceleration can differ during opera-
tion from the indicated value, dependent on the manner in which the device is
used. Dependent upon the actual conditions of use (periodic duty) it may be
necessary to establish safety precautions for the protection of the operator.
2. Preperations for Use
WARNING
Only use the original ROLLER'S drive unit for ROLLER'S Rotaro for safety
reasons. The use of other units could lead to operator injury and tool damage.
And it voids the warranty!
2.1. Electrical connection
WARNING
Caution: Mains voltage present! Before connecting the power tool, check
whether the voltage given on the rating plate corresponds to the mains voltage.
On building sites, in a wet environment, indoors and outdoors or under similar
installation conditions, only operate the power tool on the mains with a fault
current protection switch (FI switch) which interrupts the power supply as soon
as the leakage current to earth exceeds 30 mA for 200 ms.
2.2. Working with extracting tools
Fix counter holder (fig. 4 (10)) to the drive unit. Make sure that the grooves if
the counter holder engage fully in the cams of the locking ring (fig. 1 (12)) of
the drive unit.
Preselect the speed of the drive unit on the setting wheel at the safety inching
switch (fig. 1 (6)) according to the table.

3. Operation

NOTICE
Never operate the reversing lever while the drive unit is in operation!
3.1. Working with the extractor tool
Only operate the drive unit with counter holder (fig. 4 (10)). Make sure that the
grooves if the counter holder engage fully in the cams of the locking ring (fig.
1 (12)) of the drive unit. Danger of injury from recoil! Fix the pipe to be widened
with a vice, e.g.chain pipe vice ROLLER'S Anaconda WB (Art. No 120250).
Expanded the drill head (fig. 4 (13)) into the hexagon holder of the drive unit.
Set the pipe diameter. Place the drill head centrally on the pipe and drill until
the stop ring of the drill head touches the pipe (fig. 4). Remove the drill head.

Insert the tool holder (fig. 5 (14)) into the hexagon holder (fig. 5). Move back
the prism until the rear end is flush with the front edge of the hexagon holder
(fig. 7). Splay the expander tool (fig. 6) and insert into the bore. Close the
expander tool and insert into the tool holder (fig. 7). Set the drive unit to left-
hand rotation (fig. 3 (7)), hold the prism and run forward slowly until it is almost
touching the pipe. Hold the drive unit tightly by the counter holder (fig. 4 (10))
and switch handle (fig. 2 (11)) and press the safety inching switch (fig. 1 (6))
in fully to make the widening. Set the unit to righthand rotation (fig. 3 (5)) and
let the prism run back. Remove the extracting tool from the tool holder (right-
hand rotation). Make two cams opposite to each other with the cam tongs (fig.
8) at the end of the pipe that is inserted into the neck to position the pipe.
3.2. Lubricant
Lightly grease the expanding mandrels and extracting tools with the lubricant
provided (Art. No. 151240).

4. Maintenance

4.1. Maintenance
-1
WARNING
Pull out the mains plug before maintenance work!
Clean the power tool regularly especially when it has not been in use for a long
time. Clean the expander and extracting tools regularly and grease lightly with
the lubricant (Art. No. 151240).
Clean plastic parts (e.g. housing) only with machine cleaner (Art. No. 140119)
or a mild soap and a damp cloth. Do not use household cleaners. These often
contain chemicals which can damage the plastic parts. Never use petrol,
turpentine, thinner or similar products for cleaning.
Make sure that liquids never get onto or inside the power tool. Never immerse
the power tool in liquid.
4.2. Inspection/Servicing
WARNING
Pull out the mains plug before maintenance and repair work! This work
may only be performed by qualified personnel.
The gear runs in a lifelong grease filling and therefore needs no lubrication.
The motor of the power tool has carbon brushes. These are subject to wear
and must therefore by checked and changed by qualified specialists or an
authorised ROLLER customer service workshop from time to timentre.
