You use two types of passwords in a HomePlug AV powerline network. The following table describes the differences
between them:
Password
Description
In order to manage the powerline adapters on your powerline network you must enter
DPW
the adapter's password (DPW) in the GigleTool. This password is printed on the
powerline adapter itself.
All powerline adapters that follow the HomePlug AV standard are shipped with the
NPW
same powerline network name. Change the network name via GigleTool to create a
private network

Description
Upgrade...
This menu item allows you to upgrade the authenticated adapter from a ggl upgrade
file shipped by Gigle Networks
Factory Reset...
This menu item tries to do a factory reset on the authenticated adapter.
Description
This menu item tries to do an authentication process on the adapter with a DPW saved
before by the application. If there isn't a DPW saved, then the menu item brings up a
dialog box that allows you to enter a DPW.
This menu item brings up a dialog box that allows you to change the adapter's nickname.
This menu item brings up a dialog box that allows you to change the adapter's network.
