Dear customer,
the following safety instructions and hazard warnings are intended not only to protect
your health but also to protect the device. Please read the following points carefully:
a) Product
• For safety and licensing reasons (CE), unauthorised conversion and/or modification
of the product is not permitted.
• If you pass the product on to a third party, please hand over these operating instruc-
tions as well.
• Drunkenness gives rise to slow reaction time and adversely affects discernment and
judgement. Therefore, it is a potential risk while driving a motor vehicle or performing
other hazardous activities.
• The alcohol tester measures the alcohol level in the exhaled air. This does not allow
any conclusions to be drawn about the alcohol level in the blood and thus must nev-
er be used to evaluate driving ability or the ability to perform potentially hazardous
activities. Exact information can only be obtained by a blood test.
• The degree of drunkenness at which a person is still able to drive depends on many
factors and also varies from person to person. Furthermore, it depends on body
weight, the last meal, the amount and duration of the alcohol consumption, the gen-
eral physical condition, health and many other factors. Thus, you should not drive
after drinking alcohol consumption nor should you perform any hazardous activity.
The alcohol tester is only intended to give you a rough indication of the alcohol level
in your blood. It must not be used to determine driving ability or the ability to perform
potentially hazardous activities.
• To obtain reliable measurements, the instructions in this manual must be strictly fol-
lowed. However, faulty measurements may also arise due to polluted air or suchlike.
• We shall not accept liability for accidents or damage due to drunkenness.
• Use the alcohol tester only when you are not distracted by important processes such
as the traffic situation and environment.
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children. The product
contains small parts and a rechargeable battery. Position the product so it is out of
the reach of children.
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, dripping or spraying wa-
ter, strong vibrations or heavy mechanical stress.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in these operating instructions,
please contact our technical support centre or consult a professional.
b) Rechargeable battery
• Keep rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave the battery lying around in the open; there is a risk they will be swal-
lowed by children or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking batteries, you may suffer burns. For this
reason you should use suitable protective gloves in this case.
• Liquids leaking from rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects
or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids could be considerably damaged.
Thus, store the rechargeable battery in a suitable location.
• Rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a fire.
There is a danger of explosion!
• Replace a defect rechargeable battery as soon as possible with a new one, or re-
move the defect battery. A defect rechargeable battery may leak and damage the
device!
• Observe correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.
• Read the chapter "Disposal" for the correct disposal of rechargeable batteries.
