 The cultures used may have been spoiled or unsuitable.
 The milk may have been unsuitable, i.e. preservatives or insufficient
pasteurisation could have hampered or prevented the growth of the
cultures altogether.
The Yoghurt is too grainy
 The yoghurt cultures and the milk were not mixed properly from the
start. Mix the starter cultures very carefully with the warm milk.
There are red Spots on the Surface of the Yoghurt
 A fungus has grown on the yoghurt. Spores have somehow gotten into
the milk. The yoghurt is not suitable for consumption and should be
discarded.
 Clean the yoghurt container and the lid extra carefully with hot water
before the next use.
 Fungus spores can float in the air. Ensure utmost tidiness of all
equipment and do not leave the milk in the open before adding the
cultures. Yeast, which is used for baking, can float on the air for hours
and contaminate the milk and can make it unfit for making yoghurt.

Cleaning and Storing

 The accessories of the yoghurt maker are dishwasher-safe but the unit
itself should by no means be immersed in liquids.
 Clean the unit after each use with a wet cloth.
 Hold the unit and the accessories clean at all time as they come into
contact with food.
 Store the yoghurt maker in a dry place and protect it from dust and dirt.
Keep children out of reach of the unit.
