The receiver is already preprogrammed to the cur-
rent stations of many satellites (see Station table),
correction is in most cases not necessary.
However new stations arrive again and again or sta-

tion frequencies are changed. You can check the
current station frequencies on teletext (e.g. SAT 1:
teletext page 516). You can add these stations via
the installation menu.

The TV picture will continue to be shown in the

background of the screen. If this background
should bother you (e.g. due to coded pictures of
coded stations or picture interference), you can
switch it off using the green button on the remote
control. This will turn the background green.

Select the desired menu item with the number but-
tons or with the | ] buttons. The arrow on the
left will show you the current menu item.

The individual menu items will be explained in the
next section.
With menu items 2, 3, and 6 data can only be chan-

ged once you have pressed one of the
x c
but-
tons in order to activate the menu item. The arrow
marking the selected menu item will flash. If you
want to select another menu item then you will have

to press the

key first in order to conclude work
on the activated menu item.
When you have finished entering the data for one
programme position, press the
O
button to store
them. » STORE « will appear on the second last line
to confirm successful storing. If you do not store
the changes then they will be cancelled when you
leave the menu.

The Individual Menu Items

Select the desired programme position with the
buttons. The programme positions 001 to

199 are available. Each programme position can be
used as a TV or radio programme position.
Entering/changing station name

A total of 5 characters are available for naming pro-
gramme positions. Press the
button. The first
c
character will flash and can be changed using the
| ] buttons. Use the
x c
buttons to select the
characters you wish to change. The following cha-
racters are available: A, B, C, ... W, X, space,
0, 1, ... 9, Y, Z, –. Leave the menu item by pressing
the
button.

the arrow on the left will flash. Enter the desired fre-
quency using the
buttons (0.5 MHz steps) or

the number buttons. The reception range is 10700
to 12750 MHz.
Selecting bandwidth

WIDE
Select the IF bandwidth WIDE or NARROW with the
buttons. A narrow bandwidth can improve the
x c
picture quality when there are very weak aerial sig-
nals or also when there are interference signals
which it can remove.
Selecting video deviation and video polarity

Select the desired video deviation with the

buttons. The settings 16.0 MHz, 22.5 MHz and
25.0 MHz are available in positive and negative
polarity. The negative values are required to receive
the C and S band with 4 or 2.5 GHz LNBs. This
inverts the video signal.

Press the
button to activate the menu item, the

arrow on the left-hand side will flash. Use the
x c
buttons (10 kHz steps) or the number buttons to
select the desired frequency. The adjustable range
is between 5.00 MHz and 9.77 MHz. With stereo
only the respective lower frequency for the left-
hand channel can be entered, the right-hand chan-
nel is set automatically. Alterations are necessary if
languages different to the ones preset are to be
received.

Selecting the AUDIO mode

You can choose between the Panda Wegener sound
carriers* MONO SUB and STEREO as well as the
main sound carrier with its MONO 50 µs and MONO
J17 deemphasis settingswith the
x c
buttons.
You can set another 4 different bandwidths for the

main sound carrier. To do this press the
button
F
as often as it takes to get the best sound.

Select the desired setting with the

You can choose between a horizontal (HOR.) and
vertical (VER.) signal. A 14 V (vertical) or 18 V
(horizontal) direct voltage at the receiver aerial

input switches it over.
Furthermore you can superimpose a 22 kHz swit-

ching frequency which is used for example to
switch over a relay or the frequency of the LNB
(Display: » 22 KHZ «).

The following decoder settings are possible:

should be set for decoders with switching
voltage output (e.g. Première), the deco-

der switches itself automatically into the
signal path.
ON
should be selected for decoders without
switching voltage output.
NORM 1:FBAS signal (video signal connected)
NORM 2:Base band with PAL deemphasis
NORM 3:Base band with lineal deemphasis
NORM 4:Only the video signal is decoded, the
sound signal is not.
RADIO: Radio mode (see "Radio operation" sec-
tion).

LNB oscillator frequency

The receiver has been preprogrammed for LNBs
(LO 1 and LO 2 see section "Connection/Multi-satel-
lite Reception (Multifeed)") with 9750 MHz oscilla-
tor frequency. If you use other LNBs then you can
change the presettings. The selection for LO 1 or
LO 2 can be made on menu line 8 (» 0 KHZ «: LO 1,
» 22 KHZ «: LO 2).
Set the oscillator frequency of the LNB which you
are using with the
buttons (changes of 1 MHz
x c
steps). The setting range is from 9500 to
12500 MHz.
The alteration of the LO 1 frequency applies for all-
programme positions with the LO 1 setting.
Sorting/Swapping Programme
Positions
The SORT function allows you to swap the
programme positions around. You can sort the
programme positions as you want by repeated
swapping.
Press the

- the Installation Menu will appear on the screen.
Select the programme position to be swapped with
the | ] buttons.
Press the

A/B
- the word SORT will appear at the bottom of the
Installation Menu.
Select the programme position with which you
want to swap the previously selected one using the
| ] buttons.

- the programme positions will be swapped.
Press the
button to leave the Installation Menu.
