Notice vor Lithium Batteries

Important Notice
Read the Manual and the safety precautions for the Lithium-
Polymer-Cells properly.
- Litium-Polymer-Cells have no memory-effect
- Lithium-Polymer-Cells are recharged with a constant voltage
and a constant power
- Lithium-Polymer-Cells have a small self-discharging Voltage
Liability exclusion
Jamara e. K. assumes no liability in case of wrong usage or ope-
ration of the product, respectively of all injuries.
The customer alone is in charge of the cell, this includes from
the recharging process up to the choice of the place of usage.
If the customer is not satisfied with the terms of usage, he may
use his right to return the unused Cell to the dealer.
Lithium-Polymer-Cells may only be stored and recharged, on
fireproof not-flamable grounds and/or containers. Jamara e. K.
recommends to recharge the cells only wih the packed rechar-
ging gear. When using an other recharging gear or when using
the permitted recharging gear unproperly, no liability can be
taken.Because of their enormous power-compactivity Lithium-
Polymer-Cells are flameable when damaged. This can happen
through extrem overcharging, a crash or a mechanical damage
and so on.
Therefore, it is extremly important to supervise the recharging
process. After a crash the cell/pack should be checked careful-
ly. For example the cell/pack could have been damaged, but
doesn't heat up before 30 minutes. So, in case of a damage at
one pack or a cell always strictly supervise.
Technical data
Case:
The case of the cells consists of an aluminium-plasticfoil. This foil
may not be damaged under no circumstance, because this will
lead to a defect of the cell. Take care of a sufficient protection
(vibration for example) in the modell. If damaged, then elektro-
lyt may run out, avoid contact under all circumstances.
Overcharging:
When charging gear doesn't stop, because on a defect, the cell
may catch fire. Therefore supervise the charging process fre-
quently.
Speed charging:
Speed loading is not possible. The charging powers for a cell
must be followed.
Charging temperature:
0 to +45 degrees environment temperature. Charging the cell in
winter outdoors is therefore only possible under special condi-
tions. During the charging, the cell shouldn't get warmer than
70 °C. Supervise the charging process with help of the JAMARA
Thermo Scan 300 ( Non-touch infrared thermometer)
Ordering No. 17 0133.
Put out burning cells/packs with extinguish powder or
sand.
Safety precausions
Because of the high power compactivity (up to 150 Wh/kg)
the cells are quite dangerous and need special care! The
company Jamara excludes explicitly, all types of liability for da-
mages, that can occure when using the Lithium-Polymer-Cells
unproperly.
- When using the accus unproperly there's a risk of getting
fire- or acid-injuries
- Overcharging, to high power, or discharging at low level
destroys the cell
- Protect from mechanical stress (squeezing, pushing,
bending, drilling)
- Never open or cut open, do not throw into fire, keep away
from children
- Handle damaged or leeking accus with care. There can occure
injuries or damages to the gear
- Under no circumstance short-circuit device and always
watch polarity
- Protect accus from heat above 65 °C , mount away from hot
objects (for example exhaust pipe)
- Before storing accus (for example in winter) charge the accus
do not store in full charged or in not charged state!
- When longer stored, the charged state should be controlled
occasionally
- The contents of the cell are harmfull for skin and eye
- After contact with skin, clean with plenty of water and take
of moisted clothes
- After contact with eyes, clean with plenty of water and
consult a doctor
Discharging temperature:
-20 to +60 degrees: Flying in winter is therefore possible. But
at temperatures beneath 0 degrees, it is likely that the capacity
may be reduced by minimum 20% and the discharging pow-
ers may be smaller as well
Lifetime:
Very user-dependent.
Storage:
The cells need to be between half full and full charged. The
storaging of empty cells will lead to their destruction. New cells
are therefore half full.
Charging time:
The charging time is between 1,5 to 2 hours.
The packed recharging gear has an automatic charging stop. If
the charging gear doesn't turn of automaticly (after 2,5 hours)
the gear has to be removed from the power supply.
