2.4 Fitting and Adjusting the Caliper
) When placing the caliper please already consider the hose routing and
take possible fixation points (cable runs) on fork/frame into account. The
BFO quick-push in connector allows a comfortable adjustment of hose
length (– see shortening Hose, page 24).
) Put caliper on mounting base
) Set both screws by hand – approx. 2–3 rotations.
) Tighten both screws and then open up 1/2 rotations.
) Turn pressure-adjustment wheel two rotations clockwise (-)
position), so that the bleeding block can be taken out easily.
) The pistons are in their most outward position.
) Remove bleeding block from caliper
changing pads, page 28).
) Mount the wheels – be careful when putting the rotors between the
pads.
) Adjust and close quick-release skewer/quick-release axle.
) Pull lever strongly a couple of times, then hold it in place.
) Set screws alternately until a tightening torgue 8 N·m (71 lbf·in) is
reached
(pic.

) Make sure that the rotor is centered and runs freely between the pads
(pay attention to grinding noises, check light gap if necessary) – repeat
adjustments if necessary.
2.5 Fitting the Brake Hose
⚠
⚠
Danger of accident due to unintended contact with hose.
– Install brake hose carefully and close to fork or frame.
– Fix hose carefully and safe (e.g. cable tie or the like).
– Keep movement of the suspension and the rotation of the handlebar in
mind.

and put in the pads (– see
– Do not buckle hose or route hose on sharp edges.
– Consider the standards of frame manufacturer.
– Comply with the minimum distance (10mm) of wheels and rotors.
– Shorten hose to correct length (– see shortening Hose, page 24).
The hose connector on caliper can be rotated tool-free by applying some
pressure. Never try to loosen the screw plug..
The order of mounting can differ, if your frame has a internal cable
routing. If possible start with routing the cable before fitting the caliper.
(zero
Disconnect one end of the hose to the hose inside the frame (only
possible on frames with internal cable routing) (– see shortening Hose,
page 24). Only disconnect one end at a time to avoid bleeding of hose.
We recommend closing off one end with insulating tape when fitting the
system.
We recommend to fix hose starting from the caliper. Shorten the hose if
necessary (– see shortening hose, page 24). Only shorten hose if you are
sure about the required length.
) Adjust the hose connector with your thumb to get a smooth radius
for the brake hose to the next fixing point. Avoid extreme bending or
crippling of the brake hose
) Secure hose in a suitable position (e.g. cable tie).
Hose should not get caught at any point in time.
) Make sure that you are able to turn the handlebar fully in all directions
without overly twisting, jamming or bending the hose.
Check for centric and free rotation of the disc between the brake pads
after first ride (check for noises and light gap)
) repeat adjusting if necessary.
