Operating instructions
• The electric drive is fitted with a thermal protection switch and is not designed for
permanent operation. If the drive overheats, because of frequent extensions and retrac-
tions, it will switch off automatically, no matter which position the awning is in. The
electric drive will operate again after a cooling-off period of 10 – 45 minutes, depending
on such factors as the outside temperature, power output and roller positioning.
• Sun protection systems with electric drives cannot be retracted in a power failure,
caused by a storm, for example. If you leave the house for a longer period for holidays
or the weekend, we recommend setting the automatic control system to manual
operation.
• In automatic operation, the area of extension and retraction must be free of obstacles.
The sun protection system must be operated in accordance with these instructions. Other
uses are improper. STOBAG cannot accept liability for damage caused by improper use.

3.0 Care and maintenance

When cleaning or servicing sun protection systems with electric drives, ensure that the
power is switched off to prevent accidental extension or retraction.
3.1

Care and maintenance of mechanical parts

The downpipe filter for the gutter as well as the gutter itself must be regularly cleaned in
accordance with the degree of pollution (leaf and moss deposits). Otherwise this leads
to the blockage of the drainage pipes and to them overflowing. Any damage to the glass
roof system or its surroundings due to a lack of regular cleaning is at the expense of the
owner.

As a rule, all mechanical parts are low-maintenance.
Occasional lubrication of movable parts (plastic conductors
etc.) with a suitable lubricant (silicon spray) as well as
regular checks / maintenance by an approved STOBAG
specialist are highly recommended and can increase the life
of the glass roof system and awning.
Extend the awning cover fully for cleaning. Clean the frame
with a household cleaner for sensitive surfaces.
