GENERAL
DIGI-TOOL F6xx in its different appearances is
a
unit for active gain make-up, impedance
matching and splitting of digital signals.
Dependent of its design, AES/EBU, AES-id or
WCLK Signals may be processed.
Because of its sensitive electronics it is
capable to refresh weak and deteriorated
signals, its fast and powerful output circuitry is
able to drive long distance lines.
DIGI-TOOL F611 is intended as a splitting
amplifier for AES/EBU Signals. It consists of
two modules with one input and four outputs
each. All inputs and outputs are transformer
balanced via gold plated XLR connectors.
Deliverable on request is DIGI-TOOL F610
which contains only one module with one input
and four outputs for AES/EBU signals.
DIGI-TOOL F622 is intended as a splitting
amplifier for WCLK or AES-d Signals. It
consists of two modules with one input and
eight outputs each. The inputs and outputs are
unbalanced via BNC connectors.
Deliverable on request is DIGI-TOOL F620
which contains only one module with one input
and eight outputs for WCLK or AES-id signals.
DIGI-TOOL F612 is a digital splitting amplifier
which combines one AES/EBU module and
one WCLK / AES-id module.
SYNC OPTION
As an option, DIGI-TOOL F6xx may be
equipped with a Sync Module offering the
following features:
- AES/EBU Input
The Fs and 256Fs information is extracted
from an incoming AES/EBU signal. With the
aid of the WCLK module, a synchronous
word-clock may be generated.
- AES-id Input
The Fs and 256Fs information is extracted
from an incoming AES-id signal. With the aid
of the WCLK module, a synchronous word-
clock may be generated.
- WCLK Input
A incoming wordclock signal may be
converted to a AES-sync signal.
- AES/EBU Output
At this output, a AES-sync signal is present.
- Internal Oszillators
The internal oszillators are able to generate
32, 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176,4 and 192 kHz.
These frequencies may be output as WCKL
or AES-sync signals via the dedicated
modules.
Read more about the fuctionality of this option
on page 18.
THE CASE
The grounded case is made of 1 - 2 mm thick
stainless steel. This provides high mechanical
stability and resistance against rough handling.
The cases´ surfaces are not treated with any
material, so providing excellent electrical con-
ductances for optimum EMC characteristics.
THE POWER SUPPLY
Mains is connected via a built-in IEC-CEE
mains socket. The switched power supply
offers a multi-mode input covering the range
from 90 to 260 V AC mains voltage.
The "POWER" switch is situated on the front
panel. Power status is displayed by a LED
situated below the power switch.
The power supply generates a stabilized 5 V
DC voltage to feed the digital components.
THE MAINS FUSE
The fuse is internally soldered in place on the
power supply PCB.
ATTENTION !!
FOLLOW THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
A blown fuse may refer to internal problems
and should only been replaced during qualified
servicing works !!
